It didn't take long for the Chineese to produce quality, it will only get better. Take a look at the DL-50, it put a huge dent in the 50cc market. I see DL will be coming out with their 100cc twin soon. If it's anything like their 50cc, it will be another shot to the heart.
Keep in mind that they were smart enough to use German bearings to get that quality and listened to their customers. Not all Chinese manufacturers are doing this. 3W, DA and such also have other markets they compete in to keep them going so one more good engine isn't going to break their backs.

Gentelman, what it really comes down to is for the consumer to buy a GOOD ENGINE at a reasonable price that fits their pocket. Whether it be made here or elsewhere, whether it be a purposely built or conversion.

As for the single bolt hub, with the MT57 you can use [2] bolts or [3] bolts, but I do not see it nessesary to use all of them. During testing Soarich had a prop slip some, whether it was tourqe or just not tight enough I do not know but Tomy Shen, the manufactuer said to use at least [2] bolts, and thats what I would recomend.

Ralph should have the engine on Monday and I think he will drop everything and start his evaluation of the MT57.

So far the only feedback my customers have made that JUST received the engine is "if it runs as well as it looks it is a winner"

Have to admit, regarding the prop nut issues you all seem to barking over,i'll add my dollars worth.Usually ive only used the 6 outer holding studs and no centre nut,but that was when i used a Biella 24x8 and i had no problems in tightening them down.

However when i used the ZDZ wood i found the it easier to use the centre nut first to tighten up with and then tighten the outer 6 studs. On 2 occasions the nut came off in flight.1st time the nut was retained in the carbon spinner causing damage. The 2 time there was no spinner as it was broken and this resulted in a prop strike at the tip.

My view is that if your flying something of this value and there is 6 stud locators, use them

If you cant be bothered to locate all or drill the prop or just want to use the nut.Its youre choice.

I haven't had anything like that happen in maybe 2 hours running, but I think I'll look for a 10mm jam nut.

Havent seen a MT57 yet, but....
Been flying all sizes of Zenoah engines for 21 years....All Zenoahs use a single prop Bolt for the prop, with the exception of the 23 and 26...NEVER had one loosen in the air, it's due to the rotation of the crank, it tends to tighten the bolt...Never used anti rotation pins either, except for the GT80 race engines...

Dont freak out guys, cos i aint saying theres a fault.Could be any number of things. But it only happened on a Wood Prop, not a Carbon one.Ive also owned Zenoha62s and never had one come off before. So its a mystery but it did happen and i thought you might intrested rather than flying off with youre nice new plane, being pulled along by just 1 centre prop nut, pull into a wall for a hover and end up reversing a bit to quick with no prop LOL

Fact is,if you use just the centre nut, she'll probabley tighten herself up with ignition slap. This was unable to happen in the setup i used cos the 6 studs were stoping any further tightening.

I'l say no more

For those of you who are now the proud owners of an MT engine,i will be picking up the Logos tommorow for the MT signature to go on the cowl and other areas that may look bare.
I shall get some pics up tommorrow. They look real good.Maybe Brad at Badbradgraphics can get his machine cutting them out
