Default THE NEW MT 57CC ENGINE

Hi Guys

Just a short note to show my test runs on one of the pre production MT57cc gas engine, have a look at the video here
The engine was ran up with a 22 x 8 zdz prop a 22 x 10 zdz prop and a 24 x 8 zdz prop, with good results.

This engine will be installed in a plane and flown at some point next week where I will post a link to the video when done

Looks like a cross with a DA and an Evolution. Not bad.

I tried to get one but the DL deal had already gone through. I still expect good results though.
Looks very promising !

Hi

Just a short note to let you know I am currently installing one of the new MT57's in an Aeroworks Python

I have had to do some mods to the fuselage to allow the installation of a JMB 60/60/270 can

More details and pictures will fopllow later as time allows

For those that can not wait here is a link to a short video of the first UK flights of an MT57 installed in an Extreme Flight Yak

Engine appears to idle and run very smoothly ---------- 7000 RPM with the 24x8 prop!!! Whose header fits the exhaust port?? What's the length of the engine, from rear edge of standoffs to front edge of prop hub???

Sorry guys, was posting on the wrong thread(MT50),
the 57 is swet and turning 7000 on the 24x8 on its 2nd tank of juice, the prop does seem to go supersonic,so larger prop would be no problem. She runs real smooth and has a great pick up from idle. The weather on the day of the video was gusting 25knots,but the pull out from hover was instant.
Thanks for getting the video up Iain

I shall upload some shots with measurements for you guys.My advice on this motor.Go and get your money down now to avoid disappointment. Both my 88's have had the MVVS and DA removed in place of this new MT.
MVVS 1780grammes
DA 1360grammes
MT 1440grammes the numbers spea for themselves

Here is some testing done on the new MT57 Was to windy to fly so we took a video of one of the tests.

Larry LS PRO ENGINES

I went out today with my new MT57cn to try different props. This engine now has about one hour after testing, so it's still not broken in, and I'm far from the best tuner, and I think I had a plug that was missing on top end, which you can hear in the video. Here are the readings I got:

First I'm at about 50'above sea level, it was about 60*F, the wind was blowing about 20mph, I tried to block the wind with my car.

Prop Idle rpm Highspeed rpm Thrust=pounds oz

Vess 23A 1800 7000 28 14

Vess 23B 1830 6570 18 13

Vess 22A 1950 7350 30 6

JXF 22x8 1900 7150 23 0

TBM 22x8 1700 6600 20 8

BME Lam 22 3D A 1740 6450 26.0

BME 22x10 Lam 1900 7150 22.4

Zinger Pro 22x6 2000 8000 24 8

The wind may have had some effect on the readings for the thrust, the readings jump around some, and I noticed while fliming the clip if I wasn't straight behind the plane the readings where lower. Doing the video when I show the scale the stick in the ground was taking some of the pull when you see the reading and it's low, but then I pull it back to where the scale was taking the ful load. My test "rig" was a digital fish scale on a tie down to the tail. The Rpms on the Vess 22A and the TBM 22x8 are the same as I got when I tested my Brillelli 366GT motor, so the motor is in good company!

Hey Misty, good to see u guys on the other side of the pond r now getting these MTs.Your right about the Plug, mine on the prototype version for the uk broke down and was missing on the top end big stylee within 10tanks,the tick over and mid range was also very rough at this point. After a change of plug from the Factory Fitted one,all was well and smooth again
Love this engine and have another turning up next week for my other YAK.

Hi Joe,
Yes the China spark plug causes the engine to miss slightly on top end. I am going to switch to the NGK plug to all the engines I have coming in. There will also be a switch to the CM6 type plug in the future. We have been getting very favorable reports on performance. Tomy sure has a winner with this one.

200 bucks cheaper than the Brillelli, and not a chainsaw conversion, 6 bolt prop hub so your prop won't slip. Say goodnite to Brillelli
