Question, is the motor centered in the cowel? It looks like it is mounted low. Could be just the picture angle, Just wondering. That thing should be balistic........Looks great. Chuck |

If I heard it right I think they are going to make the 37.5% cowls a bit wider to fit the DA 150 engines in cleaner. I have a 3W 150 TS in mine and it fits without the cut out for plug clearance I kinda like the way it looks, kinda stream lined..................I would like to have a 33% in my collection but man I have WAY too many planes as it is.............I need to sell somethin!!......lol Chuck |

| YAK.jpg Yak007.jpgThats a good point, something I thought about myself, and I talked to Garrett about it. If you look at QQ 3W Yak you will notice that the hub sticks out a little further that normal, so I did mine the same, not only does it look better but cooling has not been an issue. Here's a picture comparision: Chuck |

actually unless you took some serious holes out of the bottom I think that the air would travel through the cowl faster with a smaller opening.

Hey - First Post!! ![]() Garrett , Thanks for the video of the 30% Extra . I think it blew me off the decision fence! BME is only taking orders for their Extra at this time, but this Aviation Models -- is looking really good and available! Selling a GP Patty Wag this Sunday ( hopefully) for funds! |

Sounds great Mecury!! The AM 260 will out fly the GP Extra by a long shot. Welcome to the giants. I'm sorry the vids were not better but we dont film past the first flights because we do a lot of stress testing and want to make sure nothing gets on vid just incase something were to happen But all is well with the plane and you will really like it. Let us know if you have questions!Garrett Morrison |

Hey Merc, just finished up assembly of the 30% AM X260, have not flown it yet. Generally, it was a very good build of a very nice airplane. Only two negatives: they forgot to put the tailwheel in and the elevator servo installation in no way resembled the plans. The plans indicate the servos in the fuselage; in practice, you are going to have to install it in the horizontal stab. One of the ribs is cut to receive the servo, but it is awkward as hell. I simply cut a hatch in the bottom of the stab and then sealed it up when the install was completed. I also have a BME Extra 330L on order. Pretty airplane! According to Max, they should ship at the end of this month. Let's hope. I'll post this weekend after I have a chance to fly it. Gary |

Three test flights on the 30% AM Extra 260 this morning. It required quite a bit of aileron trim, which made for an interesting first take off and .... it was notably tail heavy. I had balanced it about a quarter of an inch ahead of the 6.5 inches recommended by the instructions and it still was very dicey. Home now and just rechecked all my measurements to make sure I had not messed something up and no. It's just tail heavy. Inverted was level with no elevator input. My three batteries were all right around the wing tube, so I will move them as far forward as possible before flying again, but that will be two weeks hence. I will add to this thread at that point. I just got back from vacation and learned the freakin' FL storms must have fried my MAC's logic board ($835.00 repair ) I have printed the assembly manuals for 30% AM EXTRA 260, BME Extra 330L and the WildHare EDGE 540T to help make a cost relative decision since the chump that promised to purchase my Patty bailed on me. Before the decision was purely on love - I guess. The AM is a heartthrob. Now I get to play the balancing act of best value for the least bucks. Is this your first BME purchase? Actually I'm leaning toward the WHare - EDGE 540T since I have to pay 6.5% sales tax and higher frgt cost. Which puts the AM a fair bit harder to justify budget wise. Any comments or suggestions - anyone? Thanks
