They are pricey, but they are worth it. I am mainly Hitec, but I also know I am getting what I pay for. For long lasting servos, I go with my Futaba's..

Aside from price, what is the differentiator between the S9156, hitec's 5955, JRs 8711? The 9156 have slightly more torque than the 5955s, but are also a bit slower. When compared to the 8711, the 9156 has less torque, but are faster.

Received my stack of 9156's as well. Man the gear lash is by far the tightest I have seen. Actually there is less than a nylon geared servo. It features the metal half case to keep the servo ridged and also dissipate heat from the electronics inside. This adds life to the servo. Should be a long lasting servo if its anything like my 9153/9155 9152's or 9451's.

I am leaning on getting these over the 5955's for my 33% CAP thats on the bench next. I just love the Futaba reliability. The price I can get over, several hundred flights with no fear in the back of your head about the servos? Priceless!

Can some one please tell me the size of the spline the Futaba S9156 servo? Is it the standard size or the larger size such as the 9152 and 9153.

Standard Futaba servo arms spline fit the 9156 servos. I have used Futaba metal arms and SWB and they both fit very well.

My buddy Arch just switched to these for his elevators in his J-Tec Extra, he had 2 per side previously, now running 1 per half.

He flew it last night and said they're working perfectly, and he saved 6 1/2 oz. in the tail which allowed him to pull some weight off the firewall, an entirely different plane!!!!

I completed the install of 8 of them in my new Composite-arf MX2. After 10 flights I'm amazed. I have 2 on the rudder in a pushpull configuration, 2 on each aileron, and 1 on each elevator half. Very positive locked in feel with major authority on all surfaces with no blow back. They are true standard size using SWB arms. They were very easy to setup with the 14MZ. draw on each surface is under .01 ma. I will have the plane at Joe Nall.
