You know............ I remember a few months ago that Variable/reversible-pitch props for large gassers was all over the board here. But come to think of it, I never did see any inverted hovering. Did I miss a video? Was anyone able successfully with hovering nose down to the ground or was it just to dang hard? It sure did look like it had the potential to open the door to some really cool style of flying. |

There is some video on the www.variablepitchhobbies.com site. Mr. Weeks also has quite a few posts on the site from development through production. Just do a search on VPP.

Thanks wizard. I've seen that type of usage. Very cool to say the least. I never thought it would be possible. But I was wanting to see if anyone has mastered sustained inverted hovering yet? |

it cant be done thats why you dont see it. it is,(was) a fad and thats it. it might help on a turbine for lag but that would be about it. but as for hovering nose down. it cant be done. you can maby slow the plane down until it falls over but without air over the control surfaces you cant control it. you might as well balance it in the palm of your hand and call that hovering, and throw the money in the trash and to think peolpe are still buying that stuff...buhahahhahahha

i have to agree,, it does make for fun on a faomy, but the use on a big plane is impractical.. now on a twin would be kinda funn to reverse one side to have flatspin like crazy, but it would get boring fast.. my .02 mike

I don't understand the point of having a VPP on a plane that big unless it's just to prevent so much walking after landing.
