First off let me say a big thank you to Mike McConville for having us out to his new field. Jared and myself had the best time. You guys won't believe what this field is going to be like when it is finished. http://www.elifield.com/welcometo_elifield.html

Check out the field development and watch the video. This is trully going to be the best field in the US and maybe the world. The events that are going to be held here will be amazing.

Mike thank you and your wife for being so firendly and introducing us to fellow Horizon people. This will trully be a week that Jared and i won't forget.

Thank you,

Well that explains all the price increases at Horizon!

They are spending money on airfields!

Hey that aint cool, man.

We were told that many events will take place at this new field. Wouldnt you like
a state of the art airfield for a fly-in or competition?
Besides, the cost of living is going up EVERYWHERE on EVERYTHING...it doesnt suprise me that companies are raising the prices on their products. I'm sure if the
cost of freakin RICE has gone up, the price on materials like fine balsa and ply are
sure to go up as well.
Dont get me wrong, i'm not saying that I agree with the price increase on Horizon's
planes, but i'm sure there is a good reason for it, and i can bet its NOT for a new
airfield.

The suk flys more stable and landings are very solid it floats and about 3 feet it locks in and settles like it was flying it self. Have not had it in decent hover yet still workn bugs out with the carb pressure problem but think I have it solved. Been rainin for the past week and have not been able to fly. So far very impressed with the plane tho. Has some building issues and still waiting for my cowl. But over looking that it is a pleasure to fly. If someone would ask me if I would build another and all the issues where taken care of. I would say yes.

Here are some videos of us flying with Mike last week at the new field.

Sorry I didn't get any video of the Suk flying but she was great. My friend Jared thought my camera weight is to heavy to hold.

At current price I would say no...

There are other kits in the price range without the need to fix all the issues the kits have.

Isnt this thread about the sukhoi and not advertizing for the new field? At least make the videos of the sukhoi.. Or could it be possible Mikes Sukhoi has fallen appart (one of several issues of H9 sukhoi kit) thus the new plane in videos?

I just picked my Suk up over the weekend. Actually got it from Horacio who has posted some on theis thread. I have a few repairs and mods to make but it should be fun. I realy wanted this plane and was sad to see Horizon increase the price 20%. Horacio gave me a great deal! Thanks Tim it was great meeting you! I'm going to do my best to take my time and build it right. If its next spring before I fly it so be it.Thanks ahead of time for all the help guys!

Hi guys.

I maidened my Sukhoi last weekend.

First impressions:
  • Engine is way too rich. No midrange at all. Going to work on this next time. But power is very good.
  • Engine vibrates a lot.
  • Lots of elevator coupling in knife-edge. This is dissapointing, because I've heard that there's hardly no coupling at all.
Other than this, I'm very satisfied. My CG was perfect for 3D. In 45 degree inverted climb it falls very slightly to the canopy. My IMAC model (AW 100cc Yak-54) is slightly less tail heavy.

Anybody have comments about the knife-edge coupling?

Lars

Anyone know why the plane jumped in price by $200?
