I have read that these airplanes are inherently nose heavy. Would it be possible to get it to balance with a 14 ounce motor. The motor will have a full header and pipe which should move some weight back. Would heavy servos and battery get the CG where it needs to be or would it be out of the question?

I think you would have a really hard time balancing it without having to add a bunch of weight. For comparison, my Webra .32 weighs 8.81oz, and I also have a mousse can muffler and header, and my outlaw still came out slightly nose heavy to the point where I had to add a little weight in the tail. I use JR ST-125MG servos which are metal gear servos (not the lightest servo out there).

The first pic is Parallel wiring. The second is Series wiring. If you are wiring in series, it's best to use identical batteries, as far as brand, model line, and capacity. Voltages can be different for series wiring, i.e. a 2s and a 3s, both 2150mah PolyQuest packs to make a 5s 2150mah. If you are wiring in Parallel it's best to use the same brand, model line, and voltage (cell count), i.e. 2 PolyQuest 3700mah 3s to make a 3s2p 7400mah or 1 Polyquest 2s 2150mah and 1 Polyquest 2s 2500mah to make a 2s2p 4650mah. NOT using mixmatched packs, as far as brand and model line will remove any internal resistance issues between packs working in the same circuit, which can lead to expensive problems. 2 rules to always keep you in the clear when wiring LiPo's:

1. Series=Same Capacity Packs Only
2. Parallel=Same Voltage Packs Only

Hope this helps!

Chris
