Um, you dont need a Powerbox and you dont need matchboxes!!!!!!! It doesnt matter if you have multiple 8711's in a wing or HS-55's. You can match them up with one reciever or two. I've never used a matchbox or powerbox and everything runs perfect. No extra power draw, no slop or anything and fly 7-8 times a day. Probably more but was to tired to go anymore. You match them up mechanically saving hundreds of dollars!!!!!

That's just crazy talk. Spending all that time "adjusting" arms and horns to make servos not bind. Next you will be telling us that that stick on the left side can be used somewhere less than full forward to "quiet" our planes down... ![]() Will B.

On a 35%er, or a 150cc bird where only two servos are used per aileron, you might be able to get away without matching/programming servos if you are very careful, as there is a little allowable flex in the ailerons if the geometry isn't 1000% perfect. But you'd have to have either a dozen or more servos and arms, or would have to mount the servos cok-eyed to align the centerline of the servo arms. In my many years, I have never found two random servos that centered the same and traveled the same throughout the entire range. Like I said, it can be done, and I have done it and still do it, but it takes luck and a lot of forethought. On elevators and rudder, it is not so easy. Even if you get the servo placement and arm alignment equal down to the last nanometer, you still have to deal with geometry. Getting the geometry correct down to the last .0001 degree takes WAY too much time to justify. But for arguements sake, let's say it is 100% perfect - you still have the dissimilarities in the servo to deal with...I am a working man, and can't afford to go through 100 or more 8711's to find two that match perfectly. And you have the whole latency thing to deal with when using the radio to match two servos connected to the same surface - even this new 2.4 stuff has latency; I've experienced it. Now, add a 3rd or 4th servo to one surface and you're in for a month of work to get it all figured out without a matchbox or equalizer. My opinion...

Horizon called this afternoon and my AR9100 is on it's way... That's even before I found them in the hobby shops. Mine was backordered in early November for any of you who might be curious.
