 |  43% Carden Aircraft Extra 300
Here are some pics of the new 43% (126" wingspan, 119" length) Carden Aircraft Extra 300 mid-wing. This is the first 43% Carden 300 flying in the country. The plane was built and covered by Cam McCausey, painted by Mike Barbee, and vinyled up by Daniel Rathbun. Components: Desert Aircraft DA-170 on Greves pipes Mejzlik 32x10 prop, Mejzlik 5" spinner Futaba 9156 servos on all surfaces (2 per aileron, 1 per elevator, 3 on rudder) Futaba 14MZ PCM 2048 dual Rxs Fromeco Relion 5200s and Sahara regulators Final weight is 38.5 pounds. This plane is significantly bigger (larger fuselage and wingspan) than my 40% Carden 300. The DA-170 is running very strong and pulls the plane with authority through vertical snap rolls. I'm sure it will get even better as the engine breaks in. With very little time on this plane I am getting very comfortable. Looking forward to flying it at the Clover Creek and Shootout later this year! Thanks to Dennis and Caroline for designing another world class competition aircraft! that looks awsome Kurt, leave it up to Cam to get 38.5 lbs. those 40 percent pilots just don't look big enough anymore. congrats.
