I really hope it flys good, It would be nice to be able to support Bill without needing a flipn hangar in my backyard. Hopefully he enters the 100cc market and does an edge too.

The scale sceme is sweet, and the planes footprint really has the "so ugly its cool" thing goin!

I'm with you on the 'so ugly its cool' thing. Hated the 55M at first but now I love it.
He may have kept the wingspan down because the fuse is so long already that balancing and/or fitting it into vehicles might have become a problem? Even though the wingspan is 3" shorter than my 260 the fuse is almost 4" longer. To keep the same ratio and have, say, a 105" yak to be on par with the size of other 100cc planes coming out lately would put the fuse at almost 96" - that's almost as long as the GP 150cc Extra!

Well, DA is overwelmed with Shootout stuff right now so they don't have any fresh 100L's sitting on the shelf at the moment but may by Monday. In the meantime I will get the engine box drilled and a fuel tank made and stuff like that this weekend...

Nick, this a great news. The 100 cc class is a great opportunity for this bird. At this point there are only a couple of high quality, fully capable designs in the market. It will be very interesting to see how it compares one-on-one to your 260 and the EF 110.

We will all be following your build and flight evaluations.

Great looking plane. If you do not mind could you give me an inside measurement for the cowl?
I am hopping I have a motor for this one already. Thanks lots glenr

I'd love to get a Bill Hempel plane. I heard they are stable and lock in a knife edge with no coupling.

Will do. Kind of a busy weekend for me but I will do my best.

You'd probably just have to hollow out the backplate of the cannister tunnel and of course put mounts where they need be. Totally doable.
