Default New Hitec HS-7990TH "ME" Magnetic Encoder 12 bit servo

Here's a teaser for the next generation servos from Hitec. This servo is slightly larger (10%) than the standard size but it allowed us to push the torque output to the next level as the standard size cases are nearing their limit.

To go one step further we replaced the mechanical pot with a magnetic encoder... next gen baby!

Specs: .18sec@639in/oz at 7.4V.
Price: $199.99

There will also be a 7980TH without the magentic encoder but with the same specs that will be $179.99.

Shown here next to the new 7915HB (.05@75in/oz at 4.8v) tail rotor servo which uses the same case as the 7950. Of course these use ALL Titanium gears, not just on the output shaft like some other brands claiming Ti gears.

Mike.

is that it only 639oz of torque. sounds like a killer combo for giant scale. will there be a faster one in the works also.

639 oz. of torque

When will they be available?

What is a "magnetic encoder?"

How much do they weigh?

Kind of surprised the transit time isn't quicker @ 7.4v.

That is awesome. What will it do at 6 volts?

Will they have standard plugs? I'd love to see a company eliminate the conventional servo plugs altogether. They were designed for standard 40oz servos.

Might have to rethink the servo choice on my new plane! Release date anyone?

Once again hitec does it again. These are going to be some sweet servos. I messed around with my 7950TH last night. I really tried to move the servo arm and I couldn't do it.

Mike and everyone at hitec you guys are making some remarkable servos keep up the great work

The magnetic encoder is much more precise than a pot, and will never wear out... this allowed us to bump the resolution to 12bit (4096.)

Weight: 2.70oz
6V: .20@528in/oz.
Available: Feb(ish) '10

I've already asked for a faster version.

Mike.

Are we going to see "ME" versions of other servos for example the 7950?
