Anyone have one of these. I was going to get the QQ YAK 73 but my servos are not strong enough. I have Futaba 9451 with 121 in/oz. The ARF calls for 130 per servo. I have a Magnum 1.80 4 stroke and wanting to find a plane real bad..... Any help would be great. My last thread people recommended the twist and the U-Can-Do sorry but these are not the plane i am looking for. Any other help would be great...

IMO the 9451's are strong enough.. the QQ Yak is the best plane you have listed, you can upgrade servos as you can afford it, starting with more torque on the rudder.. i'm glad you did not get the twist or the ucd

i own the goldberg 77inch yak 54. They take standard servos. It seem to be built nice. My father is building it for me and he is putting in a DA50r. It say upto a 40cc gas engine but the da is is lighter then most 40cc gas engines. I think it will fly really nice. I hear they are a really good flyer also. Remember they have oz rating for a reason. Both safety and to protect your wallet. So its your call. Tom |

Hope you dont mean standard as in 40 to 50 oz with nylon gears. I once saw a Dave Patrick 78" Edge self distruct due to severe aileron flutter. He was running standard nylon gear servos. That thing was in at least 4 pieces before it hit the ground.

It might take standard size servos, but don't try to use standard output/gear train servos in this plane. Fellow FG flyer "Scorf" has one with a BME 50 in it, it was tough to balance and it had to shed some weight but now it's a excellent flying airplane and the control surfaces are quite large. Standard servos would die instantly in this bird.
