Thumbs up Re: funtana x 100

my lhs had 3 of them. and i got 1. just started building tonight. theres a lot of differences from the f90. the wing is much thinner, although i think the f90 wing will work on this. the fuel tank and mount is different so the space where i mounted the battery in my f90 wont work in this plane. also the ribs are way different.( more beefer than the f90) they arent paper thin. also the turtle deck mounts like the extra 260. and the carbon wing tube looks to be the same size, but i havent mesured it yet. and the landing gear has a nice weave to it, unlike the extra 260. there not painted. looks good. the covering is tight and looks good. its packed so well i thought i was going to brake something trying to get the parts out. the manuel says the colors are different than whats on mine.it lists orange, blue (like whats on the extra 260) and sky blue, but mine has silver not skyblue. so far i have found 1 problem. the ribs are lazer cut and locks with 2 vertical supports on each rib, looks very strong ,but when i touched the only one you can reach it fell out. so worked stopped and i broke out the thin ca and glued all i could get to. that means i had to hold the wing in all different ways to get glue to them. just to make shure i got any other ones that were not glued. will get pics posted tommarrow. theres some serouis right thrust on the motor box. the stickers look way better than the f90, but again i wish they would just put them on a sheet and let us decide wich ones to put on and where to put them. also its made for horizon and set up for or tested with jr equipment but the switch was cut for futaba switch. so i will have to add wood to get a jr switch to work. also one nice touch added was a mount for the receiver is added but not installed. so you dont have to use it if you dont want to. they also say that the ds811 50 oz tork servos were used in the prototype. i dont think they will be enough to handle the ailerons. maby the 2 for the elevator halfs giving a total of 100. and i know one wont work on the rudder. still i wish they would have given a mount for pull pull for the rudder and not cut out for the servo, or at least leave the covering on so you could use wich ever you wanted. also the landind gear blind nuts are 8 32 with metal bolts? (W.T.F) this wont hold up on landings it will ripp the gear block out if too hard of a landing happens. so i knocked them out redrilled and put in 1\4 20 brass inserts and using 1\4 20 nylon bolts like i did on the f90. i would rather change nylon bolts instead of repairing the mount block. more later. with pics. also iam not bashing this plane just stating facts. i think it will fly much better than the f90, but it has more wing loading so it wont be quite a floater like the f90. the manuel also states a 16x4w prop is too be used. (speed kills). so use the stick on the left. personaly i like it and cant wait to fly it. i had over 150 flights on my f90 before i sold it. it was also first run and never had any of the problems that were in the threads on the sites. the day after i sold it i couldnt stand it and bought another. its still in the box. and by the by the sfg look stupid but iam shure they work as designed, but you wont see them on mine also they are not pictured on the box ha ha. later hucksters

Thanks for the pics keep them comming, have you decided on an engine yet? I would really like to see this with the new Zenoah 20cc. It would be cheap on gass and flight times would be a lot longer and it dosn't way much more than most big engines.
