I would say 33% and 85. Because the 35% is a little on the heavy side.

I have to disagree with ya on the heavy side comment. I'm currenlt flying a 35% SD YAK, DA 100 swing'n a Vess 27B. Weighs 28 lbs on the nose. Has awesome vertical, and flys really light. This plane is a floater when you need it to be, and a wild cat when you corner the sticks. I simply LOVE this plane!

Not really the 85 is going for $795 and the 100 for $1150 so yes there is a difference in price but anyways I am not really debating this plane because of the price but for the performance and in my opinion not always bigger flys better

My point is that a light 33 % flys better than a heavy 35% same applies to a 35% vs a 40%.

Well yes that would make sense,, I was talking about in a perfect world setting,, and actually, not trying to argue, but I bet a heavier 35% would FLY better than a light 33%, the 33% would have more power to weight though,, you see what I mean,,

I would go 35%. It's a big airplane for a 35%. Huge wing area and power to weight wont be a problem with a DA 100.

I also agree on a light 33% flying better than a heavy 35%

I have seen Larry's fly and it is awsome performer. But I am sure either combo would work well.

Arrow SD MODELS YAK 33% or 35%?

Larry, or anyone that has a newer version of the SD Yak.
Did you need standoffs with the DA 100?

I'm thinking about this for my next project and can't seem to find out if it needs them.

Thanks
Bob

Bob - I received my SD models Yak 35% about 6 weeks ago. The firewall is not installed, so you can set it up to use stand-offs or not (your choice). I cut off about 1/2 inch of the motor box sidewalls , glued the firewall at that point, and my DA-100 fits the cowl without any standoffs. I have about 40 flights on it now and really like it.
