Check out www.TMProUSA.com for some great .40 size planes. However, I personally use a Funtana .40 for my 3D practice. It's harder to fly, but that makes me a much better pilot.(had a Flip3D as well Sleepy. Great plane!)

The Tribute would be perfect. Comes with the motor and everything and hovers perfectly with the evolution motor it has.

Buy the profile off ebay. It is cheap and great. This is why.

The other day the tank came off in a inverted flatspin. I was to close to the ground to fully recover. BUt when It hit the ground I only cracked the fuselage. I came home and tore off the monocoat and glued her back up. Then I went down to the hobby shop and got some carbon fiber. I inserted that into the fuselage. But the best part is before she hit the ground she flow great. Small wing like 40". But I only bought her for $40. and got $10 in carbon. with a supertigre gs 40 thats like $50. Then what ever I got in odds and ends. It comes out to around $140. Not bad at all.

LOL HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA

that's best laugh i have gotten all day.

the Twist is hardly a 3D plane... just because H9 calls it one means nothing.... It's more like a sport plane with large surfaces that can hover... It doesn't do anything cleanly.

You cannot beat a good profile for .40 size 3D. No fatty planes in that range even come close.

Alot of GREAT options as well Mojo, chinn Yak, OMP Fusion, Sabre v2, Extreme flight edge, Williams extra 330, etc....

Cool Re: What .40 size for 3D practice??

I had a funtanaS 40, and with a saito .82 it flew amazing. lots of power despite the fact that people are putting all the way up to 1.00's in it. one thing it doesnt knife edge unless you make it more tail heavy than the book says but it hovers great. i had to make lots of rudder throw, ( 1/16-1/8 of an inch from the elevator ) and still didnt knife edge at full throttle but i had the CG by the book. it's a good beginner 3D plane as its tough easy to land easy to fly, flies inverted good, unlimited verticle and hovers like its a puppet on a string. ( not quite that easy but im lacking a better analogy. )

Modeltech Magic Extra. It's $99.00, and will rip with a .46. I have had like 6 of them, ball it up and get a new one, doing silly stuff like 60 degree flaperon harrier landings. I had the ailerons set to 45 degress it would roll insanely fast.

I'm flying a U-Can-Do .46 with a Saito 91 running on 30% heli fuel. The plane flies awesome for 3d and is more akin to flying a good 3d foamy.
