I would have loved to have had mine this light. Mine was right at 18 pounds with DA50/slimline muffler combo, Li-Ions (one 4800). Mine still flew great at 18 pounds though, especially with a Prince 22x8 P-Tip on the front end.

I Have a WH edge at about that weight, and I actually found the opposite, I moved an ignition battery Back and it helped.

My reasoniung comes fromt his, on a my sim (AFP) I exxagerate the CG and put ti way up, it makes the plane snap like no tommorow, where as if its wayyy back, it flies like crap bit it DOES NOT snap.

I mean of course their two COMPLETELY different planes, but I'm just telling you what works for me.

Also, something you may not want to here. I'm NOT judgeing your pilot skill level, but I found that MYSELF, when switching from profiles to 30 %'s you can't yank back like it's an ultrastick or a glow profile, you have to set up your tunrs and plan it all out. No Yankin and Bankin.

But this was also a major problem with my 30%, being only my second plane with split elevator halves, make SURE that their moving in synch that will make ANY plane snap.

Also, if you want to go lighter, heres a few things to start looking at.
-Li-ons
-CF Wingtube
-CF Tailtube
-CF Main Gear
-Lighter wheels

^^^ Just my $0000.02 Prolly not worth much though just trying to help.

Oh, and ROLLING THUNDER,

I'm not doubting you in anyway, but can you please tell me what components were used to get a 16 lbs. TOC 30% Yak. I'd love to have that setup!

Futaba 9151's on the wing, 9451's on the elevator, 8611 on the rudder.
one Futaba dp149p pcm rx.
One 2100 7.4 liPO, Smartfly regulator, one 1200mah Lipo on ignition
Xoar 23-8 prop, 3.5" spinner
No pilot, no wheel pants, Hangar 9 P-51 tires(very light 3")
Sulivan tail wheel assembly also very light

This is the KMP version, we bought 8 of them, this one is by far the lightest. The others came in at 17 lbs.

Lately have have been using it as a Tug for big gliders, I made an emergency release that mounts on the turtle deck. I can take a 157" glider to 1000' in 15-20 seconds. 45 degree upline right off the runway non stop up until it is a dot in the air.

On the KMP versions we all had to redo our stab incedence.

Yep, your 20+ pounds wet weight, an aft CG, and elevators that don't throw equally are definitely not helping!

MY A.M. Yak is right at 18 lbs with an Evolution 58. my first yak was a little snappy coming out of a slow down line but it was over a pound heavier. My curreny yak does not have this tendancy on low or high rates even with 65 degree throws it is rock solid.... wing rocks in harriers but not bad for this size plane.

HI
I HAVE THE KMP YAC WITH THE ZDZ 80 ONLY FLEW TWICE SO FAR AND DOES FLY NOSE HEAVY I LIKE A PLANE THAT WHEN YOU GO INVERTED IT DOESNT NEED TO MUCH DOWN ELEVATOR TO KEEP LEVEL
BUT WHEN IT COMES TO SNAPPY I HAD A 35 % GILES THAT WAS VERY SNAPPY SO I KEPT ADDING NOSE WEIGHT THAN I REALIZED THAT IT WAS SO NOSE HEAVY IT TOOK ALMOST FULL ELEVATOR TO EVEN DO LOOPS AND THAN IT WOULD SNAP BADLY
I WILL BE FLYING THE YAC TOMMORROW I MOVED THE BALLANCE POINT BACK ABOUT 1/2 INCH HOPE IT LIKES IT

Sleepy.

My EF Yak is 15.5 and its like flying a 28% foamy.
You absolutely cannot get it into anything it wont come out of. It can be dead stopped, throw an aileron and its rolling.

If this guys plane is snapping out, its definately a weight issue. 20+ in the air with 1450 sqin is a brick.
