FG'ers -I pose this question. It seems that most of the supposed 40 sized 3D machines still require a .50 or .63 fourstroke to 3D effectively. They seem to be coming out around 4 to 4 1/2 lbs. Does anyone know of any kit manufacturer that truly makes a 3D machine that will 3D on say an ole OS max 40 fp. Heck Id be satisfied with a OS .46. All- not triyin to turn this in to bash thread - just trying to find an alternative 3D machine for folks who are on a budget. It would seem logical with all the advancements made in lazer cutting that there would be a 30-40 sized 3D machine that would come in the 600-700 sq 3 1/2 lb range. Ronster |

Have you checked out the TMPro Katana .46 size? It hovers at half power on an OS 46AX. I had mine on an OS 50sx and it was ballistic. I also think the Mojo kit can fly fine on a 46.

yea man. I was just about to post the :48" TMPro Katana V2 46 ARF or the 47" OMP Edge 540 P Kit or the 47" OMP Yak-54 P Kit. All good with a .46.

rdgood: do you already have an engine? if you don't, whatever you do, go with a ball bearing 46...such as the OS 46fx or the Thunder Tiger 46 Pro. Don't go with a bushed 46 like the OS FP, the OS LA or the Thunder Tiger GP. They are good motors, but not nearly as powerful as the ball bearing motors. Anyone of the above profiles will work fine with a healthy 46 with the right prop, such as a apc 12x4. Whatever you do, don't go with a Hangar 9 Twist...they are a fun fly plane, not a 3D plane. |
