3DUBYA, ONECAN, Ok you pair of buggers. You lit a fire here in my mind and we need to take this a step further. Can you guys start a thread up showing the mods you have done or even recommend to get a lot more out of your trainer. Lets assume you are starting with a brand new trainer. Servo installation, Where, why, best setup. Any mods you would do such as bigger rudder and elevators just as an example. Ailerons ??? What I'm looking at is if someone decided to build a 3D trainer what would you want. It must still be a simple trainer to start with, there are plenty of step ups but I'm looking at something that would take little Jimmy from his first flight to being able to huck it all with the same plane. Simplicity and price is imperative. Then radio setup. Onecan I know your in the red shirt camp so you could do it with that brand. 3DUBYA I am sure you flow with the orange and black shirt brigade so you could do that radio. Guys its just an idea but I think it has merits. A cheap trainer, designed from the ground up to get kids interested but not limited to doing circuits. How often do you see kids buy a trainer, get to fly it good in a few weeks and then they are looking for a new plane to do more. I see it too often. It likely will need plug in wings as rubber bands dont do much in walls etc. Tail dragger to reduce weight and keep the front end simpler. The ability to balance on the tail is a magic idea. Guys the book is open with a blank sheet of paper. Lets start a new thread so as not to obliterate this one. 3DUB or ONECAN. You guys open the new thread as I dont want to steal your thunder. Kiwi |
