Go for it fly boy,

Theres nothing like having a go. Hats off to ya kid. Make it like you want it, fly it like you love it and learn from it. There are a million couch potatoes in this world who will say whats wrong. Dont listen to them. Learn from what you do yourself. Its a lesson that that will stay with you for a very long time.

Again good on ya mate.

Yea man... another thing I would suggest is take the people's suggestions, write them down, weigh them out and figure out which ones will really help your design the most, make a few adjustments and get that thing in the air...

Good luck slick!

good job dude. I dont see anything terribly wrong exept for the tail boom there and some needed structure in the stab and surfaces. Other than that dont rush to do any full power walls

Flyboy,

Your prime idea is quite justified!!!

I too agree that most of the ARF manufacturers- who say their airplane is .40 sized 3D machine - when in essence the airplane takes a saito 80 4-stroke. To 3D properly.
The idea - I think is to scale down - a Tad.

A few suggestions though -
If you can get ahold of some carbon fiber strip material 1/4 wide say .014 thick X 36" long can work wonders for added strength without paying a huge weight penalty. Manufacturers dont like using carbon because of the added labor to handlay it in or sandwich between two layers of balsa.

But I would definitely say that your plane is a good first prototype.

The one thing I would also recommend is dont give up and keep coming back to this forum to get remotivated.

One thing that gets me going is when folks say " Oh you cant do that - I say well watch this pizza boy..." and make it work anyway - basically where there is a WILL there is a WAY!!!
