Walkert122,
No matter what everyone says you will still have to make the final decession. If your looking for one that flys better than the other I think it would be pretty even. It's still the pilot flying the plane...........Get one of each.
Tony, nice Avatar!

How come they had 1/16" sheeting on the sides...as far as I'm aware all the Dalton kits have 3/32" fuse sheeting...well at least that's what my 35% has. If they decided to save weight by using lighter sheeting....don't blame the manufacturer. My vote goes to Dalton...but then again I may be a bit biased

As for the side sheeting mentioned above I have never used 1/16" side sheeting and never will. This is also the first that I have ever heard of this being a problem. I think some good advise for all of us to follow is no matter what you fly, if you do have problems no matter how big or small send the manufacturer a email or give him a phone call. I am always willing to listen and this will only make the products we buy even better.Manufacturers, myself anyways appreciate feedback from customers that are flying or building the products we sell.
Tony, that Avatar hurts!

Oh wait, I'm talking out my ass, I don't have one, I just want you to buy something so you'll sell me your Edge.

Nick,
The Edge is yours...you can make the check out to Tony Russo at Dalton Aviation

Yes, I have decided on the Dalton. I just sent Tony an email to lock in on the next available build slot.

Thanks for all the input guys!

Well, if he goes with just the looks, then Carden is the winner hands down. Cardens lines are a lot cleaner - Cardens have a beautiful airframe - period. For a comparison, A Carden would be a Jaguar and the Dalton would be a Volvo (all boxy). I know a few guys in our IMAC region that fly a Dalton. Looks to be a nice flying plane but the only reason that I hear why they fly them and not a Carden is the Price, "You can't beet the price", that's all I hear!. Makes me laugh because we are only talking a couple of hundred bucks here. But let me be fair -
I've never flown a Dalton so the only thing I can talk about is the looks and remember unless you’re competing at Top Gun for looks and scale appearance - then don’t worry about it. As someone told be at the Masters (Hint - "Mouth of the South") "Don't fall in love with your Airplane - fall in Love with FLYING!" -- You've got to respect this guy!
So - would I switch to Dalton - Probably not unless I'm handed a kit to compare. then, and only then could I compare the flight characteristics of the two. My bet is on the Carden - but I could eat those words someday.

Good Luck !

I started by considering all my options but had narrowed the field down to the Dalton and Carden prior to posting. You are right though, John does make a great airplane...

Damn..
I guess everyone has opinions but man, some people have a way of expressing it..

If you havent flown both, I dont see how you or anyone else can give a fair answer to this question.
Of course, you will have the posts like, "I have one. Its the greatest"

The person who started the thread I am sure wasnt looking for that.

I have had the Dalton, great plane. Carden looks nice too, however neither of them look scale at all IMO.
