The 125 is the same case size as a 100 and ALOT lighter that the 150 and probably dang near as strong. Nothing wrong with the OS, as I had one of those and it was a fine motor.I just think it's way overkill for the Funtana. The throttle response of a four sroke is the shiznit for 3D. The OS takes a little more time to spool up. Plus you will have to get longer landing gear to run an 18" prop.

i just thought of this i know you guys are tired of hearing my cyber voice but heres an idea. if the only probelm is the gears then i could buy metal gears. they are 15$ for each set. howver this is better than 30+ for each servo. wat do you guys think of that. because i would hate to put these to waste.

OK, servos are one thing not to mess around with. Like everyone has said you may have a gear strip and this could cause a crash. Even worse, the plane could lose control and kill someone... seriously. Sell the servos you have and get some 645s.

You can't beat $37CAN each at Great Hobbies. I am using 645s in my H9 Extra 260, Moki 2.10 and my friends are using them in a Funtana 90, OS 160 and Funtana 90, YS110. They are a great, cheap servo. Compare the cost of a couple servos to the cost of a plane, motor, receiver, battery, and all your time.

You NEED metal gears and torque - end of story. Otherwise get a smaller plane. Take everyones advice.

At first I used a YS 120, and then went with a OS 1.6. I used Hitec 625's all around which were fine but I would substitute a 645 for rudder at a minimum. Otherwise I was happy with my setup.

Good Luck.

yeah sprice i never really thought of it that way. if im doing a tail touch right in front of me anit strip a servo i vould lose it right into myself. or worse the pits. i think ill sell them and by the time i get metal gears it wont cost me much more to get better servos then ill have better torque and metal gears.

The answer is to get JR Sport Servo's. The ST125MG has 125 in/oz of torque, metal gears, zero weight penalty, and sells for $34 bucks. I stripped out the standard JR servos in my .40 size Funtana's ailerons. These servos are the same weight (.02 oz heavier) and I've had no stripped gears since.

First if you get flutter out of a F-90 you're going to tare a wing off. Second with the size of the control surfaces you need MG servos. I have a Saito 150 in mine and it's just right. Overweight though. Better be sure to beef up the main landing gear block or you will be fixing wings ,landing gear block maybe tail feathers and a lot more. Don't get cheep! At least 625's or 645's. I run digital 5625MG. Digital, only way to go!
