I think it is a great airplane, and for what Chief has them for it makes me want to go out and buy another. I am recovering mine and have put it on the back burner for a little while, but hope to have it back up soon.

Looks great. Mine will hopefully be here on the Dec. 19th, probably won't have much time to work on it for a while. But I already have most of the equipment for it. Using DA 50 w/ xoar 23-8, 5955 on rudder, and 5945 or 8411 on everything else.

Well... dont want to spoil the party you got going here but although me and Ido had one of the first ones that came out,it was our first gas airplane, and the fact that we loved it, and the fact that it flys so great, see for yourself: http://www.planesandmodels.com/image...eos/ido_dv.wmv the kit or sould i say ARF quality standards are poor compering to other ARFS i had. my friand got one of the new DVs after (i recomended him this as a first gasser) and we were shocked, after all the wait for it to come in to Israel the balsa of the stabs was fractured, the parts did not fit well the hings were positiond in such manner that the ailerons were poping out on top of the wing, a lot of work from the time you open up the box untill the field. so YES it is a GREAT GREAT flying airplane and CH did a realy good job on this end of the product ,but it is a pain in the a@@% to set up,and as you can see ,almost every pilot who hed one did some changes to the plane. good luck yonatan |

I received my DV a while ago and haven't had time to work on it yet. I have couple of questions for you guys. First it is advertised as being pre-drilled for a DA 50.....it is not, was anyone elses? Second in the instructions from chp it shows 2 holdowns for the pieces that holds the wings together mine only had 1 in the center of the wings, any problems with this? and third is anyone using the little wing fences. Also I would appreciate any info on mods that have been done to your DV's.

I recovered my DV too. The stock trim pieces just don't hold to the covering. An assembly tip for everyone: Keep the wing struts attached to the left and right pair of wings. Then you can assemble at the field by simply sliding the left pair on together. I can assemble the plane for flying in less than 5 minutes. When you disassemble, slide the two halves of the wing pairs together and store as a complete pair of wings. |

Greyhoundman, There is a 24 page thread on RcUniverse on the double Vision. It has alot of useful info. I believe the thread is titled, my double vision finally arrived. I you do a search you will find it. The fire walls were not pre-drilled on most of the kits even though it says they were. I should be marked but not drilled or cut. If you are using a stock muffler I would suggest rotating the engine a bit from where it is marked. If you mount it where it is marked you will need to cut a big section of the firewall out for muffler clearance. |
