We this day I beleive is beyond bad luck. I woke up thinking about going flying, then decided not to. But then left soon after. The day started the second I got to the field. I think we have a new omen. When on a cloudy day someone looses a muffler stop flying. I was one of the lucky ones. Anyway the day started with the loss of the muffler. So not so bad. Spoke too soon. Crash 1 H9 Spitfire. DO NOT USE FACTORY HARDWARE FROM H9. Crash was caused by the failure of a clevis being stripped off the push rod on take off. Total loss. Crash 2 was when some guy, (BTW he's crazy) had a dead stick with his 33% H9 cap. Brought back to the strip and ripped the gear off and other wing damage after extreme loss of airspeed. Crashes 3 and 4 were very close together. 3 was with the prototype for the 100cc Extra from WH. Anyway Tom let someone else fly and the engine died at low altitude. It crashed off the strip, so it was a rather interesting operation getting it back to the pits. Minimal damage, just ripped the gear out. And 4 was while going to 3. The lose of another Edge. I didn't see the whole thing or found out what happend. I decided that was a good time to leave. |

I have never seen a clevis pull off a rod before. Even the really REALLY crappy ones. I have used H9 hardware (which isn't half bad) on several planes and had no problems at all. How many turns was it threaded on? If it was installed properly I cant imagine there is ANY way to pull it out even under the hardest flight loads. Was threaded on all the way? Sounds like a terrible day at the field. |

It was pretty far on the clevis so there is no reason but it seems that everyone at the field has had problems with the H9 hardware even me. The only plane that I've had from H9 was the Funtana and Twist. Both had problems with. Funtana all faulty screws and the Twist all pushrods were too short.

Yeah, I was the lucky one, the onkly problem I had was my motor was hydrolocking. Yeah, and those days become pretty scary or uncomfortable when people blow there top.

I had a Buddy last year "FIND that same type of problem while assembling his H9-Ultra stick Lite." Turns out the Threads on the pushrods were just barely cut into it (Bad die?) He turned the clevis's on and it would look like it was fine.... Give it a tug and they pulled right off! Good thing he caught it upon assembly and not in the air! He did let H9 know about it. Check the pushrods! You may be surprised.....

I hear ya. Today I lost my Funtana X100. It was my sixth flight today and I pulled out of a hover and started to make a turn when something fell off the plane. Turns out it was the battery. It went full throttle into the ground at a 45. The flight before that I ran out of gas and broke a prop that probally jared it loose. Dummy me I didn't check it just threw on a new prop and went up again.

STOP!!! lol ur making me nervous. I hope to get flights 2,3,4,5 at a minimum on my F90 tomorrow. Flights one and two ended with the landing gear getting ripped out. First totally not my fault, (see thread), but second was deadstick from a harrier about 20 ft. high. I fixed it now so its indestructable. Now im worried that something is going to go wrong with all the posts above. lol
