Did dad buy the plane for you??? Thats a good reason not to push the limits. Sure you could do it if it was just a model airplane but when you add the words 5500 dollars to it I think the limits are changed. Just my opinion if I payed for it.

I was watching it when it happened. The engine was definitely running when it hit. Another 2 feet and he would have pulled out.

IIRC, (it happened so fast) he pulled into a wall about 20 feet high, then pushed over inverted and looked like he was going into a rolling harrier. Then it went weird and struck the ground with the tail, inverted.

He was flying it like it was a foamie. When he was flying, you had to stop and watch! I've seen him fly before, and I always suspected that if that plane ever crashed it would be from metal fatigue in the wing tube.

Dumb thumb it is then... or probably misjudgment as to whether or not he was going to do an inverted harrier or a rolling harrier instead.

Aw it was a dumb thumb all the way. The guy has skill , but he flys Buck Nasty Aerobatics. He was in a low hover and it fell over on its back. He tried to roll out instead of full down input . The plane was in knife edge attitude when it slide stright down onto the left wing . With some forward momentum and the Badd Ass DA pulling like a frieght train. When it hit, the motor broke off from the force before the fuse hit. I was watching like a hawk cause I was scart. He had already had a few good saves earlier in the day.

Hey WoodButcher,,,,,,,,,,,take another look at that picture. Klank and Gurley Mahn got the same head scratch'n motion go'n on there. Hmmmmm,,,ya dont reckon there's some connection in the wood pile do ya? LOL
You know,,,,,,that Father Like Son thing they talk about.
As for the plane, ole Hose pushes'em hard. No room for mistakes. We've seen the wing bend more than once on that bird. Musta had the toughest damn aluminum wing tube ever produced. He took it well, and has a SD 35% Yak for a back up. He wont be grounded by any means.

I overheard the pilot while standing next to the wreck, he was saying that he missed a mixing switch while trying to transition to the hover. My mistake about it being 50% edge, thought for sure that's what it was...
