dumb thumb: Lost my RCLeague Yak54

To day i lost my RCleague Yak54.
It was only me flying on the field and after around 15 minutes of flight the engine quit while going around from a high approach, turnng downwind.
I tried to land but the rate of descent was too high.
Although the Yak is rebuildable, but i am going to go for my Extra300S.... waiting in the box to be built.

Wow mate that looks like you had a bad day for sure. Thats a very nice model you have and thankfully all the gear in it didn't look to take a beating or suffer any damage.
Your field looks pretty cool as well. Looks like a real airport maybe.

Sorry to see your bad luck and I hope to see some photos of your new Extra once you get it ready and flying.

no damage to the gear. every thing survived
Only the lower part of the fuselage went flat and the prop lost half an inch.
I will be posting photos of my extra.....soon

No Problem man.... it was my first Yak.... it was to introduce myself to Gassers.

the model was good the price i got it was real good and it gave me great first hand experience of giant scale.
The flying field is Alain Speed Hobbies purpose built Aeromodelling field. it is good.... some day i will post some aerial photos of my field

Looking at your photos I know think that must be your club flying field. Those look like pilots stations marked with blue numbers. If thats your field I think you have an absolutely marvelous setup.

you are rite Mr. Kiwi those are pilot stations. then you have a no fly safety line and then it is runway centre line. We also have a ATC building , although not functional but in future it will be to control the flying.

Thats got to be one of the nicest flying sites I have ever seen. Now I need to find a very good excuse to visit the UAE and come visit you guys.

I am sure you will like it.

No doubt It is a good site, but the members we have are thrill seekers. As it is a new club, we still need to mature in our flying habits and safety standards.
Most of the times atleast i am scared of the other guys flying around me.
