Default I DONT THINK IT WAS MY FAULT

ok was out flying today after the meeting and i decided to fly my h-9 260. it was flying very well i landed (greesed in) and decided to take off again, went for a few manuvers and wanted to land again it just wasnt feeling right. started my approach and from the turdel deck forward looked like it was bowing and in a snap the plane started a full down, i pulled back on the elev and had to give it full up to get it flat in forward motion. when i let go of the elevator it took a nose over to the ground again. the whole front of the plane was comming off. i again gave it full up killed the motor as much as it would. i was lucky, i mounted the throttle servo on the firewall. so it put it into a stall, and then i had no choice but to put it into a elevator and watch it bellyflop into the ground. at first i thought hey it happens but after i inspected the airframe. the whole front of the plane came appart. there is no glue anywhere. w.t.f. is this i thought. check the pics. i think i will get intouch with horizon. i have herd of these things happening, but i allways thought it was just an excuse. guess what! iam a beleiver now. its not the same when it happens to you. iam not saying i wont buy h9 anymore. i love horizon they have been good to me over the last 20 plus years. this is the first time i have ever had a problem with anything. i never had any of the problems with any planes that i have bought. but like i said i dont think this is my fault. i would have givin it a perfect 10 on the bellyflop. if it was something i dumb thumbed i would say hey thats the way it goes. it happens. but the motor box parts arent broken just no glue. its as if it just pulled apart. i know the moki 2.10 isnt too much motor for it. well ill call horizon on monday and see what they say. ill be happy to shipp any or all of it back for inspection. check the tail feathers out looks like a jet. haha

Default Re: I DONT THINK IT WAS MY FAULT

Always....always.......ALWAYS....check your joints on an ARF especially. I will never fly an ARF before putting CA in every joint I can inspect. A firewall is a must! It could have been worse. Give horizon a call, but I don't think they will get you a new plane because the firewall came apart. It probably says to "check joints" in the manual (their loophole to building fault ARFs). You've been flying for some time, so you know what you're doing. Just make gluing the joints a must on H9 ARFs.

you are correct. i should have checked all the joints. i guess i just got a little lax on the total inspection. this was the 6th flight on it. oh well its a part of the hobby. we only lease them. man it was flying great too. the moki is a tractor of a motor. hey if they do something great and if not, thats life. nothing can get me this week cause iam going to the nall
