Sorry about the plane.

The ONLY way to right a wrong like this is checkbook in hand. Where zen ends, A$$ -whooping begins. Having said that,

Sleepy, we could all learn from your virtue. Your attitude is great, and I for one appreciate you sharing the mental anguish you've gone through to get to your ultimate zen ......life will go on, and the money is gone once that airplane takes off for the first time, if not after it's puchased. This hobby is a roller coaster, and can be and usually is an expensive one. We all can relate to the looks on your kids faces. I hope I get to make it to Joe Nall next year or perhaps meet you on some other occasion so I can buy the next round, toasting all the losses past and losses yet to come.

I buy; I build; I fly; I crash ......repeat .....

The point is that he may NOT have been shot down. So rather than stick our heads in the sand maybe it's worth trying to understand the other possible causes. The plane did not react like it should have, but if you insist, then I guess that settles it.

Judge, you must have missed sleepy's answer to your question about rx type? here it is;

(Judge.. I was using a 9 CH PCM (non-G3 receiver 149? i think - to lazy to go look but it was a dial a channel and I never had a problem with it... even the past two weeks of non stop flying at Nall and then in Findlay!))

I believe this is the only scenario that you insist is the only way for PCM to not go into failsafe.

sure seems like all info points to a shoot-down, don't you think??

That came after my post asking the question about RX types (since it was in answer to my question), so Max's comment was not in sequence.

Given that the other guy was on same brand PCM it is a clear possiblilty that a shootdown was the likely cause. Especially if his servo reversing was opposite to the "shot down" plane. However, the plane could have reacted the same way if the RX went bad due to a dead or intermittant RX. Unless the other guy admits it for sure there is still a question.

Either way getting the RX fully checked out will be important.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Never heard of anyone trying this, but if the Jerk was confronted and accepted, he accidently shot you down. Would his AMA insurance pay for the loss?

Yea.. the receiver and most of the servos are going in, as well as the engine.
After some inspection, the motor does not look too bad.
The carb block took the brunt of it, and the mufflers... the prop hub and such seems ok.. but i'll let AI tell me for sure.

Ahhhh throwing money away.. makes a chap feel good.
