Sleep, go get his ass, and bring him over. I have Cousin Vinnie and Bones here, ready to go out on a tear. First, they have to do some work for me. Told ya I know high people in LOW places.

If/when you do get to talk to him, treat him with respect, and be corjual(polite), then keep asking him questions. Ask him everything under the sun about the field and the freq board. Then remind him about that dreaded day............ Why he left in such a rush......etc, etc..............

There were a couple of guys in my old club, both of which flew Futaba Super 7's. 1 PCM and 1 FM. Conducted a study at our meeting, and both had airplanes there with radios, and proceeded to turn on. Keep in mind, both planes grounded, no wings, and no engines running. The PCM model had full control, as did the FM model. Now, whats not to say that with the close proximety
of each, there was control to each plane.......

Dude, I know EXACTLY how you feel.................... But as you do all this, have your equipment sent in and checked out. Keep all the reciepts and shipping reciepts. Don't get screwed over like I did, man. Once/if he comes clean about it, then ask him for a FULL reimbursement. I have co-written an article with that over grown Magilla Gorilla look a like that needs to get published. *HINT HINT, dilweed!!!!!!!!* Lets get it done!!! I can FWD it to you, if you wish.........

Sleep, you can prosecute, if you so desire!!!!!!!!!!!

Bunk~

This one supposedly the screw that holds on the rotary valve fractured and backed it's way out. They are supposedly hardened...and then have a set screw on them to prevent them from backing out. If the set screw is cranked down too far....it will induce a fractured bolt. That's the story I got anyway.

I am sorry that you crashed that thing, you sure loved it..
Yea man.. thats the worst part.
I REALLY LIke THE PANZL. It REALLY grew on me... and it flew SOOOO nice when set up properly.
MAN.. i'm gonna miss it.
Its a plane that never got the "yak" status or "260" status, but flies better than most planes.
If I come across some extra scratch I'll build another for sure... Hopefully Jtec still has them!!

I prefer to think that we are trying to make certain that it really was a true hit. Many times a variety of different causes may have the same result and it is worth asking the necessary questions to make certain what the actual cause was.

Example - Many times a guy will say he got hit. Further inspection shows his battery came unplugged, the crystal fell out, the servos stalled, the battery failed, and on and on. So given how many potential faults there are it is not a trivial exercise to try to make certain what happened.

Another example - a plane looked like it was getting hit. Elevator seemed to be cycling to full up, then back. Later found out that the elevator pushrod failed.

In this case I am 50/50 on the hit theory. It is possible that he got shot down. But since we are not 100% certain that the other guy was turned on, then it is possible that something else was at fault.

So my other 50% part is that the RX failed intermittently and drove the servos hard over. Both causes give the same result.

Unless the alleged culprit confesses or we get solid evidence from a third party who actually saw him turn on, then all we really have are suspicions (strong as they may be).

So look at it however you choose to, but for me I like to ask all the questions to make certain that we are not jumping to conclusions.

It always sucks losing a plane, for whatever reason. But it sucks even more not knowing for certain what the cause was. Even worse is thinking you know what happened and being wrong since you end up "fixing" the wrong thing!!

I will be frankly honest with you guys, If I were you sleepy, and I confronted the guy in a nice polite manner and he denied it, I would ask him one more time to just admit it and nothing would be said, just to be more careful, , ALTHOUGH,, I would have probrably wooped his ass that day before he left the field just in case, worst you could get is a basic assault charge, but it is funny he left all of a sudden,, I would have just plain and simple wooped his ass,,!! seriously ,
