Ok, I'm freaked out. I think I will just stare at my planes in the garage and fly Realflight for today and think of all the money I saved... By not crashing today Matt |

This is the result of a midair between my 35% Cap and a small electric Pitts. I was in an upright harrier. We had a head-on collision with the Pitts hitting one of my landing gear legs. Both wings of the Pitts wrapped onto the leg of the Cap and it stuck there. I landed uneventfully. While the Pitts owner removed the radio gear and put the airframe into the trash bin, I re-fueled and flew again.

lucky it didnt get chopped by the prop.. then the big one would have damage.. that woulda been worth seeing a video of. mike

The mid-air referenced in my earlier post was at Buder Park (St. Louis County) a couple years ago. I was in a nose-high attitude - flying very slowly. I never saw the Pitts until it hit me. It went under the prop, so my engine continued to run. The electric Pitts lost its battery and motor, but the entire airframe got stuck on my landing gear leg. I flew around for a while trying to figure out what to do and to assess the situation. Then I set up and landed as usual.
