Did you crash into ones or more on the ground, or dump all three by themselves?

I have dumped two in on days myself.

It's amusing to see the scorched outline of the Dalton on the ground in that last photo.

I guess it serves as a warning to all in the future?

Hey Mark and Al. NO it wasnt the new one. That was Mike McConvilles original prototype that Brendan flew last year.

At the very last contest of the year, the Regionals, and it was the weekend before we left to go to Tucson to boot ! Had a midair during Friday nights practice.

Brendan was one sick young man, that was his first loss of an airplane. Mike had a SU26 prototype there, so Brendan flew it that weekend.

We left from there Sunday and went to Champaign to pick up Mikes OTHER plane, the production model Mike flew at the XFC to take to Tucson. It was a bit nerve racking doing all that just 5 days before leaving to go to Tucson.

The new 260 is safe and sound in the basement Al, going to put the maiden on it this weekend with Mike. Been working on the Krill Katana now getting it ready.

Hey Danny.. It seems the cancer is under control. I had two discs removed from my neck early January to see if a herniation and a bone spur was pushing on the spinal cord causing the numbness and tingling in my hands. It seemed to help a little but it surely didn't reslolve the entire issue. I can at least go out and fly a whole tank of fuel though without having to give up in the middle of a flight. Now, the neuropathy is a differenty story. That'll never go away. I may be able to make a contest or two this year but I certainly won't be flying at contest level. It'll be just to get out of the house and meet up with a bunch of my old friends.

So, Danny... Tell me how you and Brenden are doing. I haven't really kept up with the goings on this year...

Thanks for asking. It's nice to hear from old and new friends alike.

Let's keep in touch.

Hey John, well you remember the discussion we had talking about paralisis when we were in Tucson, with being familiar with no feeling because of the spinal cord injury, and you loosing sensation in your hands/arms.....I wondered about a pinched nerve in your neck. All of these nerves that come out of the spinal cord, they all exit different places going to different functions, so it made me wonder and I think I asked you about that.

John, I know you love to compete and I wish things would have been different for you competing at Tucson. With what they have now done and it has relieved some of the pressure on the nerves, at least you can get out and fly as to where it was getting impossible to do so before....so you can go and enjoy it even if its not to the level you want it to be, its better than not at all... I know, it really stinks sometimes !

Brendan and I are doing good. Been putting planes together for this year, just finished the 260, just started on the Krill a couple of days ago, its a full time job playing mechanic lol...you think Brendan is worth it ? LOL I think he is, he has been a really good boy and Ive been blessed to have him.

Are you going to go to the Shootout even if you dont fly in it this year ? Would like to see ya again and so would Brendan.

Another ashes story.
After flying one day at the 2007 Oakdale IMAC we flew our Electric 3d Hobby SHP 300 and had a lockout and subsequent crash. Lipo's lit off and the fire went 20 acres in 20 minutes. CDF sent in 3 tankers, 1 Huey an OV 10 and misc ground support. Cool airshow except for the fact I was wondering if I would get a bill when it was all over . Thankfully we were at an AMA field doing what we were allowed to do so no liability.

John,

Glad to hear you are on the mend, hang in there. Saw you registered for the Cactus Classic in Intermediate! You need to change your signature! Hope we see each other soon.

That is a classic for sure.....
