Default No Crash, Just BURN

Lanier RC 40% Edge 540
ZDZ 160
A123 (3 pairs)... Fly well when heated.
Spectrum Powersafe Receiver.
Hitec 5955 (cases are still recognizable)

Just did some cleaning and tightening up on it last night. Brought it out to the field and turned on the ignition after putting in 40 oz. of fuel.

Trust you all will enjoy the pic more than I. Only had the cell phone handy.

Respectfully,
Greg Penner (the unrespected)

Only thing I can figure is a short somewhere in the ignition system. Engine died in flight the previous day which is only the fourth time out of about 80 flights. Fueled, turned on the ignition... POOF! Not enought left to fill an icecream pail outside of the engine block.

Ouch! I'll be packing the fire extinguisher from now on. I also just had a ZDZ ignition system crap out on me. I think I overloaded it with voltage... didn't pay close enough attention to the range printed on the side of the case. Falkon must really like their ignitions... $175 for a replacement! I don't think so.

What engine? I have a 160 ignition / switch package that I no longer need.

Yes, one of things bad about using a battery with a high current capability. I accidently shorted the 22ga wires connected to my A123 2300ma cells and the wires lit up like a light bulb before they burnt in two. Sorry for your loss...

I was using A123 2300s. Had three sets in there. I don't believe there was any fault with the batteries them selves...
Someone else suggested that it might have been a back-fire...? Is that possible?
I just got a call from someone who has a used Carden 540. (thinking)

Thanks for comments. Life does go on.
