no servos were fighting one another the only two servos ganged togeather were the rudder servos and they were on a match box and they werent binding. i load checked the batteries before the flight and they checked out good. it was only 15 seconds into flight so dont think it was a battery issue. they were lithium ions. i really think it was stricktly a futaba fasst issue. im running a pitts wrap around muffler heat was not an issue. the air temp was 60. and it was 15 seconds into flight. Im not trying to rag on fasst because this is the first issue I have had.

Im just saying a binding servo could be as simple as an ele that is giving to much resistance so it makes the servo drain more current. Some thing like that over a couple flight will drain any battery. Its just something to look for.

yeah i know what your saying. I just find it hard to believe it drained both packs in literly maybee 30 seconds the plane was on. before it locked out. I know your saying a couple of flights. but it wasnt so who knows. hopefully i will find the plane and beable to find something else out. but i know all the packs are going to be dead after being on for this long.

Im hoping for a miraculously small amount of damage so you can find the problem. I had a crash like this on 72 mhz were the plane never went into fail safe but every thing was demolished, battery pac was in 7 pieces no way to tell if it had any charge. Last summer i also lost my gen 4 QQ 102 yak because the a123s went dead on the 3rd flight of the day yet i had enough battery for 8 flights. It had to have something binding to use up the 4600 mah it had. Now, I use Lithium batteries so I can test them before every fly to hopefully catch a drainage problem.

I crashed my H9 Ultimate in a Futaba brown-out situation... Got mad and switched everything over to JR. I bought a CompARF 3.0M Yak, and used the servos from the crashed plane in it. They seemed fine, no binding, smooth operation. On the fourth flight, It started porpousing, then rolled and spun into the dirt. When I got to the crash site, one elevator was locked in the up position. Back at home in the tear-down, I found that the "locked" elevator actually had a hole burned in the bottom of the servo. It looked and worked fine for 3 flights, but on the fourth.... it cost me $8K. I'll never fly crashed servos again. | ||||||||||||||||||
