Default Huckfest Yes, Yak No!!!

Well I won't be taking my Yak to the Huckfest, need to order a fuse.

Everything was done except the balancing. I wanted to do a range check and rpm test before I mounted the cowl, so to the backyard I went. I had my son hold the plane and I fired it up, walked for 280 feet before I started to get a couple of minor glitches, walked back in about 10 feet, sweet, no glitches all is good.

I walked back to the plane and told my son he could let go now, I wanted to check the ground handling and then shut it down. I taxied it for about 30 feet and blipped the throttle, the thing took off toward a 4-place snowmobile trailer. I slammed the throttle down, hit the choke switch, nothing...2 or 3 seconds later it was up against the trailer with the fuse broke in half. The prop is shot and the fuse is shot, but everything else seems fine.

When I got to the plane, I noticed the battery was unplugged, I didn't fasten it permenant, because I wasn't sure where I would need to put my packs for balance. I sure wish I had both packs in it from the start, but my second one was on the charger, making sure it was charged for tomorrows maiden. I guess it doesn't matter now !!

I just checked the transmitter and the failsafe was set to normal, with the throttle going to 20%.

So at this point I'm not sure why it didn't go to failsafe, the receiver is a brand new Futaba synthesized.

Here are a few pics, I'm kinda' tired now...

Oh man that sucks, sorry for that one kenny. That would have to beat Sleepys maiden with his yak, at least he got airborne.

Sorry mate, hope you get a fuse real quick for the HF.

Thanks guys,

I have a 33% Extra, kinda old and beat up, but the motor would pull it fine. If I can get the fuse by the end of the week, I should have it close by the Huckfest, I'll bring it and finish it there.
