If only it was that easy to get a ride in an Edge. He would be lucky to get to sit in one and make engine noises.

Chris,

Sorry to hear about your loss. My name is Greg Dial. I met you at a funfly late last year at Baxter field. I was flying the blue and white KMP Yak. Anyway, the same thing happened to me about 2
years ago with a 31% AW edge. However, my PCM lockup was totally my fault. I moved my ignition battery back to within one inch of the aileron wires. After taking off and doing a couple of rolls with the wires not secured, they moved and touched the ignition battery...inducing inteference. Sounds like your lockup was due to some other type of inteference. I know how you feel. Like someone mentioned earlier, when you are able to replace your plane consider the Aviation models 33% Yak. I am putting one together now and cant say enough about the quality of this plane. It should be a good match with the 3W 80. The plane has as much wing area as your edge but will only weigh between 20 and 21 lbs. The way I see it, crashes are a way to move on to something better, but it does hurt for a while.

Greg

Chris,

I forgot to ask. What field were you flying at when the lockup occurred?

Derek,
Watched the video and it made me feel sick and it isn't even my plane! That is the exact plane I want in the future though. PM me the power system/setup you used if possible.

I am maidening a H9 Extra 260 with Moki 2.10 (no ignitiong to worry about) this weekend and have FM and PCM receivers to choose from. Was going to go PCM but this thread has me worried. What would you all recommend?

Thanks
Shaun

Greg he was at Baxter Field when it happened. No bodyelse was in the air or fixing to fly.
Really wierd how it all happened.
I almost lost my 40% Edge a couple weeks back out there. It was getting hit and then went in.At first we thought the firewall came loose ,but after
further inspection the wing tip hit and cracked the side of the fuse and the the energy transfered to the motorbox.I feel lucky considering when we got over to it behind trees and bushes she sat on the wheels.Only had damage to the wing tip, fuse side, and wheel pant.Pretty easy fix.
Kinda glad it happen the way it did.All the gear is good ,but this really got the gears moving on something else which should be awesome when it is done. And will hopefully get Chris a good supply of planes to Huck.
