I read about the Great Planes E-Fest 2008 article in RC Sport Flyer (April Edition), and I saw the Electrifly Yak 54 foamy and I am intersted in finding one. Does anyone where to get'em? Keep in mind that there is also an Electrifly Yak 54 balsa arf kit asw well and that is not the one I am looking for. Thanks, Rob |

I didn't see a Yak 54 foamy on Electrifly's website but I saw some Yak 55 foamies. If those are the ones your talking about then Tower Hobbies carries them.

Hey Guys, Thanks for you replies but these are not the ones I am looking for. I copied the picture from RC Sport Flyer (April Edition) page 27 and attached it below. This is the one I am lookig for. Notice they say that it is one of the hottest planes going, yeah right, if I can't find 'em then I can't get one going. Thanks, Rob |

You can find these literaly everywhere... However I don't like them My local shop that sponsors me lets me know when new things come in, which these came out nearly last May... anyways if your lookin for a good 3d machine this isn't your ticket. It's a good lookin plane but isnt that great of an aerobat and 3d'er...

Great Planes has not yet released the yak 54 yet. HOWEVER, a plane that should fly equally, or even better than the GP Yak, is a DW Foamies Yak 54. Both look to be the same size, and have the same dimensions all around, so the DW Yak should perform just as well. www.dwfoamies.com

the ones that you saw in the photos at efest were production prototypes, so only a few team futaba pilots had them. I was able to fly one of them and I have to say definately one of the better foamies that I have flown and for as light as they are they took a good beating. They had a nice setup and pretty good hardware with them. I would imagine that you will see them within the next couple of months.

Uh oh. DW Foamies is going to have another competitior. But if GP sells it for like 60 bucks, then DW Foamies still wins in price.
