Default Fliton AJ Extra

HI guys just back from the field and well the wing tube in the wing came out while flying, it was attached to the first 3 ribs and the wing gently floated to the ground. Intresting to have a plane with one wing and a inner wing tube to fly. Having watched big Bill land a one wing plane its not easy and i landed nose in first after a valiant effort.

Im a bit shocked as this plane has about 50 flights so a poor glue job should have shown up earlier. I will post a pick later once shock wears off.

Anyway if you have one maybe pop some glue on the first ribs where you can.

Mark

Default Re: Fliton AJ Extra

I think the AJ Extra is built on the bleeding edge of being too light. I've personally built three (on for myself and two for other people). The first one I built was a total loss when it came apart during a blender. We think the entire tube pulled loose in the fuse.

It is worth the hassle as this is one great flying airplane. If I lost mine today, I'd probably go with the same thing.

Good suggestion to check the glue joints for sure.
