Ben, it all depends on what battery you use. We've been using the Hobby City batteries a lot lately with great results. With the 4S 2350 pack we are getting 9-10 minutes, depending on throttle usage and wind conditions. |

I only got 5 minutes out of mine... Oh well. I'm using that same battery, and it was great. Tons of power, and quite light as well. Can't wait to get another one soon!

I've put countless flights on Fred's EXP and it's a remarkable little airplane. Very impressive precision for a small plane, certainly the best I have flown, and yet unlimited 3D. Awesome combination. I get 7 to 8 minutes on a 2600 if doing really agressive 3D flying. At a fly-in a few weeks ago, Seth and Jamie were doing some IMAC-style flying with it with a 3000mah pack and flew 15 to 20 minutes! Can't wait to get mine! RJ

I don't like to talk about it. On the maiden, I got it up there, trimed it out, and was just playing around with it. I did a lot of IMAC for the first 3 minutes, and what an airplane! That thing was SO locked in, and I've never flown such an amaizing electric! It felt just as good as my 58" EF Extra in all IMAC menuvers, and I knew that it was a winner right off the bat. After about 3 minutes of IMAC, I brought it down, and did a couple harriers, and low rollers, then hovered it, and walked up to it and caught it. I then put it on the runway, and took off, and went into more 3D. I did a rolling harrier into a negative wall, then went to spin it around like I always do with my 88, but the elevator locked up, and it spun straight in. It was a total write off, and it even messed the motor up. It was very sad, but it's part of the hobby, and I'm getting one from the next shipment.I have to say that it is THE best plane for it's size that I've ever flown! If any of you guys lurking on this thread have any doubts about this plane, I'm telling you that there is nothing to doubt here! This thing is out of this world!

Chris told me that they should be here in a couple weeks. You're on the 2 best lists possible! :-)

leelee, You are welcome to "tickle the sticks" on my 110" Russian Thunder Yak at the Fly for Tots, it will definitely motivate you to get yours done!

lee lee, I have had a Aeroworks 29% Edge, Carden 35% Edge and a SD 37.5% Yak and I can tell you that none of those planes fly as good "out of the box" as the 110" Yak. I have the low rates set up like Chris suggests in the manual and anyone who can fly a trainer could fly it with no problems. Rudder is amazing even on my "middle" rate. I don't mean to hijack this thread, I would like to have the 48" EXP also but I will have to trim the fleet down first. |

I lost my Extra 300 EXP in a similar fashion where it locked up and went in. Just wondering if you were using the Airboss 45A ESC as well? After mine went in I noticed that the LEDs on my spectrum 6200 receiver were doing the slow flash thing, indicating a brownout had occured. When I hooked the battery up to the chargef it indicated 20% charge remaining.. I wondered why the ESC didn't cut the motor out before the battery got too low. I read the manual for the ESC and by default the ESC simply lowers the throttle on low battery instead of cut off as I expected. Since the plane has such great power I was flying at half throttle when it went in so I assume I simply didn't notice the battery getting low until I lost control... Fortunately I bought 2 kits and after reprogramming the ESC and moving everything to the new airframe I haven't had any more problems... Wayne | ||||||||||||||||||

Sorry to hear that you lost yours too. I honestly don't know if it was the reciever, but it might have been. I'm not going to bash anyone, but personaly, I have not had good experience with those recievers. I was using a 6200. Maybe I'll just put it on an old 72mhz radio. I have a Hitec 6ch reciever with no home, so I'm thinking that I'll do that.
