Default Pitts Python Unb12

New laser cut kit available soon

This is a version of the Pitts Python series of aircraft, the Python,Ti 12 and Beast are only availeable from QQ, so this is an Unobtainable model The Unobtainium Unb 12.

I have always liked biplanes and have been building them since the early 80;s, the problem has always been that I could never find one that flew as weel as it looked. All had extreme coupling, were too heavy and had nasty ground handling

I built several Weeks solutions from foam to 27% scale and I have been working on the Python series for 3 years. Many foam test beds and balsa models of 36,48 and now this one at 60"

I like the way it flies and looks, and have Had it laser cut too offer it in kit form'

If you are looking for something to build, want an airplane that you do not see by every other flyer, Want a 25% scale biiplane that is IMMA legal designed for precision and 3D flight then maybee this will be for you

The Unb12

60" wing span 26% scale
1375 sq''
11.75lb ready to fly
19+ oz wing loading
6.37 cubic loading
designed for electric power 2000-2500 WATT's
8s-10s 4000-5000 Mah packs
18"-20" prop
for a size reference the cowl is nearly 10" in diameter

I can provide a motorbox for conversion to a 180 glo

The kit is laser cut balsa and light ply
all parts are interlocking
The wings are self jiging and have tabs on the ribs to keep the wing's straight and square.
The fuselage is also self aligneing to insure it is straight and square.
There are 4 wing pannels that plug into the fuselage and center section useing Aluminum or carbon fiber tubes
servos in each wing pannel for ailerons, no complicated linkages between wings.
the top wing senter section remains attached to the fuselage
Field assembly is between 5 and 7 minutes
no flying wires required
The kit will include all laser cut parts, balsa sheeting, T6 aluminum landing gear and cabanes.

The KIts will be $400+ shipping

I just had to do it

I can do an aircraft ply motor box. With a little reinforcement it should carry the load and vibration

I think I have myself just about talked into this plane.
What would a person use for the canopy ? What about the carbon tubes needed , diameter and length required ?
You could also offer it without sheeting or sticks. That can be purcased locally and it might make the box smaller for shipping.

Hey Dennis....I saw your thread over on RCG as well. I just wanted to comment on what a beautiful job you did on that little pitts! I know you mentioned that you were planning on coming out with a "kit".....any idea of maybe an ARF? Guys like me that can't build would really dig a little ARF like that. Awesome job man!

Jdff0503

Little 60 inch wing span legal for IMMA--You must be flying some of the really big stuff.

Not ready to do an ARF, but this goes togeather real easy, for a kit.

I am sending out a couple of kits for beta building the first of next week, you should get one also

Dennis nice choice in Li-Po's!!! Hey I have been looking for a larger Pitts and I think I found it. Looks like I will have to build a plane after all the years of ARF's. When will the kits be ready and shipping charges to 99026. Looks like time to save up some cash again. Any ideas for canopy? And I really like the fact that we can cover to our liking. Looks like a little MaxAmps.com Scheme will be called for.
