These plane are excellent flyers. I think these are the ones that started all of this foamie stuff. It's just too bad that these things will not go down in price. The cheapest I have seen is around 35- 40 bucks. I enjoy the Extra myself and would get another.

| El Temucano I designed that one myself. Just a quick little something to put together and fly. It was a great flying airplane.

| iflyrc3Dstyle, your right. The shockflyers were the original 3D foamies. When they started to catch one, all the companies started copying thei design, then eventually improving upon it. Now we have foamies that fly like 40%'ers! I had both the extra and the edge at one point. I used a handbuilt CD-ROM out runner with a 2s 730 lipo, hs 55's and a gws nano reciever. If you build them light the cd rom motor has more than enough power with a 2 cell. I prefered the edge over the extra. No particular reason, it just felt better in the air. They are both great planes though.

The yak was the best for me, it had the most amount of pitch power.

I buy the 3 pack for dome season. The Superstar is the best one. The Edge does do a better tail flip , well, it looks cooler. I usuually fly them with a 400xt from Hobby Lobby, 730 TP and Spektrum. But the 5 1/5 oz er is worth a try ...a bit more pricey (AXI) but At 5.5oz it must be amazing. Mine are around 8.5 4 gram servos , microstamp , itty bity motor and battery all add up to a better floater I quess. |
