Default Fliton AJ Extra Power System

Hi,
I've put my name down for one of the FG Fliton Extras, and since it will be my first electric, and I'm not too sure about motot, ESC, batt combos I would appreciate some help reagrding this. Its says on the Fliton site that the E-flite 15 and the Axi 2828/10, a 3S2P 3600mah batt and a 40 ampo ESC. Will this power it well? I don't want it underpwered, I'm just working on a budget.
Cheers

Hacker A30-10XL
40-55 amp speed control
4s 2170-3300 Flightpower lipo or Thunderpower
apc 13x6.5E prop

CRAZY POWER!! and the best combo for this plane. I have this setup on mine and so does Andrew and it works awesome.

For 4S configuration, yes. I am not so sure about 3S, though...
I have the a30-10xl, phx 45 esc, and 3S 3200's with a 14X7 prop. It is by no means a rocket, but will hover and pull out with decent authority. I haven't amped it yet, but I am sure it pulls more than 40 amps...

40 amp esc is pushing it on 4 cells. I am running Hackers new 55 amp with the built in bec and it works great.

Yeah, the BEC part of the 40 amp is a no-go, but it should handle 4S with a seperate BEC. That new 55 is the ticket, though!

What about the hacker motor, a 3700/3300mah TP batt, and a PHX 45 ESC and the APC 13x6.5 prop?
Thanks

I would run the Flightpower 4s 2170 packs I am getting about 8-10 minutes depending on how hard I fly. If you are going to run a 45 amp esc then you need to drop down to a 12x6 prop and then you won't over amp the speed control. But if you want awesome power you need the 13x6.5 and then you should run the hacker 55 amp esc.

Im not sure about the 14-7. Its ok but it doesnt make the plane perform as good as the sebart katana30s with a 14-7. The AJ is a bit wild with the 14-7. so much torque it makes it a bit of a handfull in the hover. imo its impossable to fly this bird indoors on a 14.7 yet the seba katana 30 is sweet indoors on a 14.7.. Must be the 32class dualsky xmotor on the aj that creates way to much torque on the larger props. The hacker 30-14-L on the seba dosent create such problems with torque. Check out the vid of the AJ with the 12-3.8 indoors. http://www.flyinggiants.com/gallery/...0S_Indoors.wmv In this case larger props make for bigger problems. This may sound odd from a big prop junkie But its true

A simple setup would be the Hacker A30-10xl and 3S 2500-3300 packs with a 14X7 prop. This would NOT need a seperate BEC and will yield the lightest weight overall. It is the powerplant I had in my plane and it was plenty for hovering, pullout, and unlimited vertical and is good for at least an 8 minute 3D flight.
In fact, I just lost mY AJ to a radio lockout and will sell you all the electronics from it, less receiver, if you're interested. Nothing was damaged in the crash except the motor mount backplate was bent, and I can straighten that. I have:
Hacker A30-10xl ($90)
Phoenix 45 ESC ($100)
3ea. HS-65 servos ($26ea)
1ea. Bluebird 380 max hi-torque micro for the rudder ($21)
2ea Hyperion 3200 3S packs - about 20 cycles each ($110 ea.)
1ea. Flightpower EVO 3S 2500 - about 5 cycles ($90)
That adds up to just short of $600, new. I'll do you a deal for $500, shipped to your door via Fedex 2-day air...

Would you be willing to part with the motor, esc, and servos? Was planning on running a 4s set-up on mine. So I dont need those batteries.
