I buy quite a bit of my electric dodads from united hobbies but i have never had one of their large outrunners. i just purchased a turnigy 50-65 from them and was wondering if anyone has any experience with any of these large cheap motors. i will be running the motor on 6 cells and hope to get 1200-1500 watts out of it. It will be going in a 5-6 pound hybrid profile. On another note I have been very impressed with their Zippy line of batteries and the price cant be beat for what you get. |

I have about ten HXT motors from small to large. They all work very well. I have never checked the efficiency. But I would rather pay 30% of an expensive efficient system and then fly 20% less than pay more. For the money I save I could buy more batteries. Although with the A123 batteries and their 20C charging abilties you don't even need to do that...

I have a 600 w Turnigy setup. Fantastic for the price. BTW. BP hobbies have some of the same/similar stuff, slightly more, but shipped from the USA. The difference in shipping makes them pretty much the same price, but shipped from the USA from a US based vendor (selling Chinese stuff). http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id=V815101 |

I have a few of them, they work good...the Turnigy line is probably one of the better lines actually from UH, so i think you will be satisfied... Compared to high end like my hackers, they are a little louder noise wise, not frequency noise, just outright noise(but when you look at price difference it makes sense). Their wires are a little flimsy, so be careful not to over manipulate them as they are definately using different flex wire for the 3 pair. Cooling is good, and they seem to enjoy standard base ESC settings...so no need to change default programming on ESCs to run them.
