Default Quick Question on Charging

Hey all,
I need to charge a six cell 3000 mah nimh battery. The only problem is that my charger only goes up to 2000 mah. Can I charge the batteries at 2000 mah or will it cause a problem

Thanks,
Doug

Doug:

It just means it will charge it slower. It only becomes a problem when you charge at a rate over the capacity of the battery.

Doug,

When i was reading your post I assumed it was Lithium. You can actually charge NiCd or NiMh over their capacity. I think 4C is the most but I'm not positive. This is what fast charging does.

No problem, I charge my 2700 mh nimh packs at 1000 all the time, it just means it will take about 1.5 hours to full charge your pack.

Doug,

Only use the quick charge when you have to, if you have the time to charge it slow, do that instead.

Is your pack a 6 cell or 6 volt?

Hey Ken,
It's a 6 cell. They are the batteries from the starter I bought in Toledo. The same one you, MIke, and Scott all have.

Ohhhh, now I see!! Why didn't you say that!!!

yeah buddy, I use the quick charge if I need it, but i usually just throw the batteries on my Elite at the standard cycle rate, which discharges them to a safe level and then peak charges the packs. I do that at night and it usually lasts a full 2 weeks of flying.

Hows the eye?

I would put them on a charger but I havn't gotten the Shulze yet. GOnna buy it here soon cause I'm buying the Li-pos for my Extra within a week or two. The eye is doing good. Only one stitche left in it. It will end up going back to original, but it will look weired. A friend of mine, Jamie, was over and she had a pair of glasses from a while ago, and with them I could actually see with my right eye but it still was blurry, but everything was one picture. I flew the Summit last weekend. That thing is awesome. Doin stuff on the second flight I never could do before. I got to go.

Doug,

I just got back from Florida and saw your e-mail. Awesome that you got the Summit flying!! I knew you would like it. Just wait until you can take it out on those 30 mph wind days and it'll just cut right through the gusts. It truly is an awesome airplane. About the throttle setting though....its normal. You can use a throttle curve to get it out but I just delt with it....your choice.
