What is not really well understood is when a LiPo cell is made it has zero volts. Its pretty much inert and to get it to work they hit them with XX volts and get the cell voltage high enough to charge it from there.

But Lipos are born dead flat so you can resurrect them if YOUR CAREFUL!!!!!

Ian.
You mean 2.8v as in .93 volts per cell? WOW...that's potentially playing with fire. LOL I would upgrade my homeowners insurance before doing that. The Art-Tech charger is dangerous enough by itself sitting unplugged in the corner.

Chinn is right....I too have resurrected a few over the limit packs, but it's very dangerous...not that that isn't fun..it just is what it is. Most newer chargers will not charge a pack that is less than 2.8v per cell (or a total voltage working out the same way). When a cell in the pack gets below around 2.6v (or the whole packs gets below 2.6v per cell) it's pretty much safe to say that has seen it's better days.

I don't condone this, but:

I know a guy who took 2 5000mah 6s packs that had bad cells in them, soldered a male deans on one and a female deans on the other, charged the good cells in the packs up as much as they would take, plugged em' together and tossed them. It was a good light show. Too bad there was no video. I won't say who it was, but it happened in the Hobby Lobby parking lot a few years ago.
