Default 40% Electric. HOW MUCH?

Seeing Beavis's Dalton on batteries, and then hearing of them being stolen about six months ago, I am wondering how much does this set up go for. Seriously. Are there battery packs out threr you can buy, or do you have to know the guy at Thunder Power, and have his rocket science guy build some custom packs just for you? So lets say you want to get what he has in that yellow and purple Dalton. The Hacker quad set up, ESC's, and two sets of packs....how much? Where? Again, the motors seem avaliable as well as the ESC, but can you buy the batts over the counter? I have heard they cost like $5000 just for one set, and they don't last, and they don't make a charger for them so you have to have one made...... What is the truth, and will it ever be likely to go this route? I would love to get into the large electrics, but it seems that every three months it just evolves so much, its not worth the effort, just yet. I see he also is spinnig a VESS prop, as well. SLICK! Thanks for any response.

A local guy i fly with sometimes has one..
and he's had nothing but headaches. It has two outrunner motors on a single shaft, two ESCs and 4 huge batteries. I believe he has well over $1000 in just batteries. The plane has only be flown once and has had lots of problems.. one ESC went bad, One of the motors stopped running right, lost a battery.. I believe he's getting all the problems worked out, but the technology isn't quite there for the electrics.. not enough power or reliability. I think he has well over $10K. I'll try and call him tomorrow and get an exact number.

On second thought.. I think his batts might be $1000 each and he has 4 of them. That's $4k in just batts alone!

Huge dollars in the batts and in the motors. I believe it was Yuri H. that had a H9 Ultimate on electropower and it was rumored that the power system was close to 8K, not including anything else. He also had a Von Extra 260 on hacker power that was awsome! i have the vid around somewhere. Never heard much about it after its debut, but it was awsome! Uploading video now....

At this point I think the Large electrics are like "company concept cars"
BAD as HELL but no one can really get one.

They bring the 40% quad hacker motor, custom gearbox, your electric bill jumps $400 when you charge it, planes out to titalate us dorks, and then they string us along, giving us.. little 40" planes and maybe a 50" electric... with the premice that If the big one did this imagine how our motors will pull that little one we just sold you.

Sales ploys my friends... sales ploys...

Maybe I can convince they guy here to take his electric to Nall if any of you are interested.. We're just over an hour away from Nall, so it's no big deal.

Lots o money...

If you want your big investment on packs to last you need the correct charging/cell balancing equipment. Right now, the tech is mucho expensive and I don't see the price coming down for a long, long time.

hacker has a new gearbox out

C50's ran at about $320, you'll need 4
$1280 for motors
1 hacker master 90 acro will run you $420 you'll need 4 again
$1620 in esc
I'm not sure if you can buy an off the shelf gearbox assembly but I bet they aren't cheap. Right now you have a choice between duraflight lipos or TP lipos and theyll set you anywhere for $4,000 up to $9,000 or more I believe.

Check this out!! One motor, direct drive no gear box.

I dont think giant electrics are too far away anymore. The European guys are really at the forefront, especially considering their noise issues.

That thing sounds cool as hell! Man, I would love to have a huge one, that ran as easy as a foamy. Fun for the whole family! How in the hell does Yuri H afford that stuff by cleaning pools out in north Phoenix? That plane has six or eight packs in link. Ouch. Hacker has that new quad that Beavis ran, and it looks to be a production model. Anodized in black, and looks like its well thought out. Crazy money! Still, is there like a catolouge, or a website that sells this stuff?
