Default Anybody FG folks fly in the southern Indiana/Loiusville area

I am going on vacation in August to Louisville/Southern Indiana for 2 weeks. I haven't been back in about 3 years. I heard of a field near Lexington but they may be a bit far. My brother lives out off of the Hurstborne area..

I work in Louisville off of Hurstborne lane. The closest field to the Hurstborne area is at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park off West Port road. Here is the web site of the club that flys at the park: http://www.rcrcky.com/ There is another club that flys in South Louisville and one that flys across the river in Starlite IN. I hope this helps.

Several of the ProBros are at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer park. Scott "Tailspinner" Kimball, Nate "I3DFU" (can't remmber his last name). Jeff Williams is across the river in Indiana at the SIRC club. I know a lot of guys there fly giants. The Wings for Kids Airshow is next weekend. They usually have Mike Barbee, Biff, Frank Knoll, the JR team etc...really good show, lots of fun. I used to be there, but Uncle Sam took me away from home.

Jonathan,

Man oh man - I wish I could go to the wings for kids event...

Do you know Tom Millet?? Im working on getting a few foamies to arrive there when I do, so I can assemble them and keep flying. Thinking about a funtanaX 100 it ought to build quickly.

Hi Ron,

I'm in southern Indiana but on the other side of the state. I'm north of Evansville. about 2 hours from Louisville. Pitviper's club has a nice site, I was there New Years Day for a fly-in. The club at Evansville is a nice site. I have two sites here within 10 minutes from the house. One is the club field at the airport, the other is a private ultra lite strip were I normally fly. If you would like to come over we could get you some stick time.

Pitviper,

I used to do some serious slope soaring in California near the Big CreeK north of Santa Cruz. Slope racing and the like back in the 80's... When I moved to Portland about 11 years ago I got totally hooked on IMAC and 3D giant scale .. I occasionally I run into some PASS (Portland area Soaring Society) guys who fly near Hood River near the gorge. From what I have heard its some of the best soaring in the country.

Wizard - Got to see how much time we will have - If I had my way I would visit all of the flying sites. I think my brother's place is near the EP Tom Sawyer flying site. I have heard its kinda tight facility though which is OK. Im thinking about sending all of my electronics ahead of me and assembling a FuntanaX100 and a Tribute while I am there. Im thinking build models let the wives' shop and fly like mad the second week. Ok - well at least thats my plan - ya know how plans go... I wish I could bring my 37.5% Yak though I haven't figured out how to put it in the overhead bin
???

Everyone thanks again for the invites - I'm definitely psyched!!! FG rocks!!
