Just sit back and watch things take place, then when they need something, be the first to volunteer.

Ok guys for any that have been following my quest for redirection in our poorly dedicated club!! Here is how it played out at the meeting that just went on about three hours ago!! We had a total of 4 people show up!! All 4 except for myself are officers!! The pres, the treasurer, and the safety officer! Well I sent out the information to the pres, and I am not saying he batted it down!! but I did not realize that the field that we are at they have asked not to attract to much attention!! Well if that is the case why are we even having a flyin? Well After seeing the way that goldsboro had there flyin set up with the sim!! We should be able to make that happen at ours as well!!the pres did not seem to have to much of a problem with that but here again he did say something about attention!! I am going to ride it out for a little while and see if we can make something work! but I am not banking on anything!! Oh yeah in the meantime I will be training anyone that comes to the field and ask for help!!

I am President of the club I belong to. I think we havea great club. Not necessary a lot of dedication when work is concerned, however, good leader ship BY EXAMPLE goes a long way. Club leader have got to go the extra mile in order to get think done, even if it means doing it yourself. Motivation of other is key but not all get to deeply involved. All I can say is that for the 35 or so members that pay their dues, come to meetings, vote and don't fly a whole lot, thank you for being a member and paying dues so that I can go out an play any time I wish. A club 45 miles from here is going through terrible times with conflicting perssonalities. We have rules along with AMA rules, bi-laws and follow them well. All is not perfect all of the tme since you can not please everybody. Good luck to all clubs and please have fun. FUN

It's a club thing. It really doesn't matter what hobby you are in, there is always potential for problems in the club enviroment. For example, I have been on the waiting list for a local club in my area for the past 2 1/2 years. I fly pattern, and the president does not like pattern. I am not even sure that he knows what pattern is. Anyway everytime I would go out there to fly as a guest he would give me a hard time. About a month ago the two of us were out there alone, and he decieded to really rip me a new one. I am in two other clubs, and decied to remove myself from the list. These people that ruin it for the others really tick me off. Funny thing is the only person in the club that had a problem with me was the prez. He would tell me different, but everybody else always told me that they couldn't wait until I got in the club. The problem I found was nobody in the club would stand up to this bully. That's all he was, and ever will be. It makes me sick watching these guys kiss his butt to his face, then as soon as he leaves or is not around they talk about how much they don't like the guy. That's why I am not on the waiting list anymore. I refuse to support a club that will not support themselves.

Hey Temptation, you can join and fly any time. I think pattern is cool along with IMAC, 3D, Heli's, electrics, foamies, any thing that flies. All fun to watch and most fun to be around. It is a club thing and as far as RC flying, we must embrace all and I mean ALL.
