www.mentorrc.com I hear they fly out of the Ashtabula Airport.

They also have winter flights in the Chagrin Golf Dome. $10 pilot fee. Good times.

I dont want to sound rude but that ashabula clubs field is a joke. Its 20ft. wide and about 100 long. Surronded by brush ans perpendicular to the taxiway. Its good for zagis.
I live about an hour from cleveland and theres a few good places to fly that are within 30mi. of me.

Unfortunately there isn't a good answer here. There are only a few clubs fairly close to the Willoughby/Mentor area. I have flown at the Balsa Bashers club in Concord as well as the Prop Busters in Thompson. Cleveland R/C club is in Independence but there are strict noise restrictions. I have pretty much accepted the fact that if I want to have a quick flying session, the only option is park flying at Osborne Park or somewhere similar. I am not in a position yet where I can "make a whole day out of it" like you suggest due to family obligations. I know the MARCS club has been looking for a second field for a few years now with no luck. Feel free to PM anytime.

Good Luck,

Steve

Osborne Park is in Willoughby on Lakeshore Blvd. between Lost Nation Rd. & Reynolds Rd. I am so close I can hear the electrics when they are flying. There is a small group of guys that fly there, but I forget what they call themselves. I wouldn't feel comfortable flying there until I switch to 2.4 this spring. I plan on flying my new Fliton FG AJ 330 there alot!
