Actually, its ok not to re-program anything.

Just remember Radd's method. On hover practice you are not allowed to get out of a 3 foot radius, you probably broke that rule when you hovered above chest level. Keep it at knee level for 3-5 more batteries. No flying yet, just pure hover. There is no shortcut in this procedure, break this & you will go "long cut".

What battery are you now, #5? You are not yet allowed to hover till battery #10 di ba.

Be patient & stay focused. Mao na ang lisod, mao pud na hinungdan sa crash.

Master is Riley's title. We are all padawans under him.

I'd consider myself probationary Jedi.hehe.

As long as hindi talaga ganun ka luwang, as in paypay na belt, pwede pa yan. If you think it is really lose, then just relax & wait for the weekend. Sana nga wala ulan.

Default Chinese tail weights mod observation

I had to put one on when I was experimenting with tail servos.

This particular servo was fast, but what advantage it has in speed, gives it up for torque. It's .6kg of torque really is pushing it for a 450. It did held ok with tail first backflips but it was already straining itself & I can see the tail wag everytime I did that manuever.

This was done with the help of the Chinese tail weights mod.

Then I finally got hold of Hitec 65MG's. Swapped out the TP9g servos which has been in service since day one. Good servos btw but had centering issues. I never had one give in a flight, but I was not going to wait. Along with the cyclics, the tail also got the 65MG.

I was all confident with this servo going into the tail. I was anticipating good flight characteristics that I was not able to get from the previous tail servos.

Now, upon flight testing, I almost immediately had tail hunting, indicative of high gain. So lower the gain I did. The wag was gone, BUT a ccw spin was present. Not really a continous ccw spin, more like an adjusting ccw spin. Everytime I stop to hover, the tail would spin ccw(nose going left) a few degrees, then stop.
If I increase gain, I get wag. If I add delay, I still get wag on Idle up, but ok in normal. This was confusing & at first I thought my KDS800 gyro was a goner.
I knew that I needed to increase gain to stop the ccw, but everytime I increased it, I get tail hunting & I could never get it to hold a sweet spot.

Then I realized that with the 65Mg's 3.5kg of torque, plus the tail weights mod, I could be getting an overly fast tail setup that makes the gyro gain adjustments so sensitive, that I can't dial in the right amount(thanks to my Wfly rotary knob gain adjustment).
I did lower the servo horn to its lowest position, but the piro feels so slow, I had to move it outside one hole up. Looking back, this added confusion to the process of eliminating suspects on my persistent ccw problem.

Finally, I just decided to take out the weights & leave the tail as is. Tuned it so I don't get tail hunting in Normal, flipped the Idle up switch & piro'd & stopped the tail, lo & behold, the ccw spin was gone. I now got the proper tail hold.

It took me a span of 2 weeks to determine the problem. I was not that quick to rule out the tail weights mod, though I should have.

That is it for my tail weights mod experiment.
