Baj,
I have a pilot 33% yak 54 and love it. I bought it from troy built models. Tony from pilot was very responsive when my cowl came damaged. no problem replacing it. Before the 33%, i had an SD models yak which was also very sweet. Good luck in your very difficult decision. You won't go wrong with Pilot, strong, light and very nice flying airplanes.

Thought you said you would be going with the best? So why use JR? Only kidding

Chane and I will be at SSRCC Sunday so Ken, you guys are all backwards. Please switch that around and come to SSRCC Sunday.

Carl, Mark S, what say you? I know Paul G is going both days.....Rudestar.... I know Baj is going both days.....anyone else....Wayne?

Chane and I ran the new DA-170 on the 37.5% Yak (yes, I am one of those that like it like that......ummmm it's lighter than a 150 and more powerful.......ummmmm) Anyway, it runs sweeeeeet and smooooooth. Can't wait to fly it.

Here are pics of it arriving home.....

The Yak looks VERY nice!

Not yet clear if I'll be able to get to the field on Sunday or not but I'd love to take a closer look at your new bird so I'm going to try to make it...

Want to get my Python in the air as well and see if I can't get the DA100 tweaked so it's running right....

Wayne

Father wait till you put few flights on the DA170, nothing like power in an aerobatic bird, today should be a power day, you will feel the torque in the air as you go, good luck on the maiden.

Man, I would love to see the python. Please bring it. You will have plenty of help to get that motor running right.

Thanks Elie. I was also amazed at how quiet the 170 is on cans (like yours) and the 3D prop that I got seems quiet as well; I just need to see how the prop is in flight. It's the 31.5 x 8 x 14 Professional (Similar to 3W 3D Prop). It's a two blade prop. Has anyone flown it?

Anyway Elie, the throttle and power band seem very smooth. Bender used a 10.5" header pipe and the cross pipe was welded from can to can to bridge them or join them. He swears by it but intends to test with 14" pipe with and without the cross over and compare that to his current 10.5" set up. The proof will be in how it will fly.

They weren't nicknamed SNAP's for nothing. Just don't find them as forgiving as an extra or yak. Plus the one that was suggested is very heavy compared to the current airplanes on the market.

Catman, wrong about the snap on the hanger 9 cap 33%. And as far as the weight mine is 24.5#'s with a Brison 6.4 twin, 27b vess. Works slow and down low on high rates. Almost too easy. I could probably put a BME on it, swiss cheese everything and get it under 22#'s but it is stable and seems to fly great as it is.
Baj, just go with the EF Yak 54 110", pretty stable and light airframe. Will do all that you can ask for.

Rather than get this forum into a debate over everyones opinion (because we all know that everyone has one). I will no longer comment on the difference between the CAP over another plane!

Baj, if you really want to get a good idea of what the pro's think of planes. Look at the aircraft flown at the Tucson Shootout.

Well let's see here, everyone was just doing what Baj was asking for. Giving SUGGESTIONS. The only one to interject an immediate opinion I believe was you. I really don't give a rats ass about your opinion or comments. I suspect you don't care for mine either. Go start a fight with someone else.
