| Fly it like you hate it! ![]() | This is the Propnuts field in St. Peters, Mo. We also have small full scale aircraft that use the a long grass runway. The paved runway is ours.... The sad part is we may only have this field for 2006.. It looks like a new road will have it next year... My club is currently look at alternatives... I also joined another field close by. |

| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() ![]() | Ken, This is a google earth shot of our little patch of earth. As you can see we suffer from a zero tree problem so you will never get us posting pictures of tree damage. The big airport is a civil - military operation and they fly Mirage and F5's off it so we do not have a noise issue. Plus the local airlines use 737-200's and they do know how to make noise, lots of it. Our small patch of dirt is actually off to the right lower from the active airport. It was built in the 1940's for bomber aircraft operations to protect the chilean ports. These were the principal copper suppliers during the war and that involved some serious troop and bomber deployments to this part of the world. If you look really hard you will see bits of basla and monocote in the upper right corner. (Bermuda Triangle) Kidding OK. Kiwi |

| 100% EDGE Builder ![]() | This is a field we flew at in Japan. Chiba Flying Club. The runway at the time was about 50 feet wide and 350 feet long. It was surrounded by 10 foot swamp grass. If you missed the runway you had better have your boots because it was a mudhole. The club owned a boat to get downed planes out of the lake. The pits and the parking area were one and the same right next to the runway. You would sometimes have to move your plane to let a car by. The first time we got there I told my dad, "There is no way we can fly here. 4 years later we were flying small giant scale stuff out of there. That was some fun times. After flying there you can pretty much fly anywhere. |
